Repost from Addis Powerhouse
Are you an ally to the movement? (α¨αα
ααα α½α α αα αα½α?)
An ally actively stands against ANY form of gender-based violence (α¨αα
ααα α½α α αα α¨αα α°α αααααα α ααα΅ αα³α α₯αα΅ ααααα);
An ally listens to women - not to respond but to understand (α¨αα

An ally is open to learn about women's lived experiences and to become part of the solution (α¨αα

An ally understand this is not a MAN VS. WOMAN issue. It is US against the patriarchal system of oppression (α¨αα

An ally believes men and women deserve equal rights and opportunities (α¨αα

The first step to being an ally is to recognise your privileges, and to speak out against sexism and discrimination (α¨αα

Ethiopian law recognizes gender-based violence as a serious issue and has taken steps to address it. The Criminal Code of Ethiopia πͺπΉ criminalizes various forms of GBV, including rape, sexual assault, and domestic violence.

2nd-year social work students had a charity program supported by the Social Work With All club, generously funding and successfully assisting 15 people in need throughout the school year around AAU's main campus. Our collective effort aims to establish this program as a recurring tradition, ensuring its continuity and growth in impacting more lives. A heartfelt thanks to the 2nd-year social work students for their dedication and compassion in making this initiative possible.
