These skills can be learned in a time frame varying from a week to a few months and can even help you start earning while you’re in college itself. A lot of people can dance, a lot of people can sing, and a lot of people can play instruments. But how many people can Sing, Dance and play instruments? Not a lot apparently. You get the point. —SIDE HUSTLES— Earning money while none of your peers do will change your body language big time. This isn’t narcissism, this is self-assurance. In College, you have all the time in the world to set up a system that generates revenue. Or there’s an even simpler route- Freelancing. For freelancing you need a skill (which can be acquired in a small duration) and the ability to sell yourself. Freelancing is great but know this, initially your growth will be very slow. If you’re sure that the skill you’ve chosen is what you like to do, then there shouldn’t be a problem. For the rest, keep experimenting. Apart from this, look for internships early on. Greatest flex in college + lots of learning + you get first hand knowledge of the industry you’ll later work in. —RELATIONSHIPS— Having relationships is fine as long as it doesn’t make you compromise on other aspects of life. The easiest fix is to join a gym. If you’re concerned about you being tired due to the gym and will end up compromising studies, trust me, working on myself boosted my academics substantially. Working out and building a good physique requires discipline and dedication, both of which seep into academics and help you focus harder and longer. As for the tiredness part, if your diet is decent, you have nothing to worry about. You’d instead end up having excess energy due to workouts. This can get tough since you’ll find yourself in social situations very often, but try to stick to no junk protocol strictly. -Don’t be ashamed when people tease you for not eating shit with them. Such people are simply obstacles in your path. They have a different trajectory from you. Avoid such people who’ll potentially pull you down. -Try Ashwagandha, you’ll feel much calmer. -Do not invest heavily on gym supplements. You DO NOT need whey protein. There are cheaper and superior alternatives to whey and even those are optional. You’re in college, you must take care of your expenses carefully. —KEEPING UP WITH ACADEMICS— A person with OUTSTANDING academics and no other skill is worth LESS than a person with decent academics, good social skills and good personality. Academics is important, but it shouldn’t be the only focus of your college life. The only way to excel in academics without compromising other personality builders is by being Consistent. 1 hour of college work daily is easier, more efficient and more likely to make you stand at the top of your class, than the sleepless nights before exams. My advice to handle academics is to never let the stack pile up. Now if you are in a situation where for some reason you have to cover the entire syllabus in a night, in such extreme cases, you might wanna consider taking modafinil. (NOT MEDICAL ADVISE) —APPEARANCE MAXXING— Key to excel in appearance front- Don’t overdo it. Keep it simple. Make sure all your clothes are well fitted (Especially around arms and chest). If you have some t-shirts that are loose but you don’t wanna get rid of them, go to a tailor and tighten their sleeves to refresh their look and make you look better. When it comes to color, this is absolutely personal. I personally like to wear Solid Color V-necks, you should wear whatever you think reflects your personality. Just don’t get too fancy with your wardrobe selection. Brands do not matter at all. What matters is how it looks on you. A 10$ t-shirt that fits you well is better than a 100$ t-shirt that is baggy but trendy. Don’t be soy, DO NOT wear baggy oversized clothes. Game Theory - Part 2 We have already discussed cooperative, non-cooperative games & prisoner’s dilemma. Refer to Part-1 Apart from cooperative & defective, games are further divided into sequential and simultaneous games. Chess is a sequential game, where both players take turns laying out strategies & playing. The decisions of both the parties affect each other’s further decision. If player A decides to check B, player B must now strategize to evade the check. While, prisoner’s dilemma is a simultaneous game - wherein decisions of both parties are independent of the other, and may or may not have an direct effect on the players. Cricket or War is a complex sequential-simultaneous game. This post is focused on solving purely sequential games with the use of backward reasoning - Look forward reason backward. The essence of game theory is being capable making the best decision for yourself while keeping in mind the options & decisions open to other players as well. You must place yourself in their shoes and be able to judge the board form their perspective. Backward Reasoning simplified Lay out all the outcomes of a sequential game, one that will be played by you that also influences or limits the options of other player. Recall the example of chess, play the game in your mind, for say, 3 moves - You move a piece, then Player B and then back to you. Now, reason backward what piece on the board that you can move to limit the options of the other player that can tilt the game in your favor. Note that this is an oversimplified example, most games in life are complex & depend on variety of factors. For example, you are looking to partner with a person to play a sequential business game. You must look at the future options of the person, his character, his past dealings in business, etc. Nothing in life is unilateral, there are always multiple variables.

That which appeals to the masses, and that which appeals to elites, are not the same. Know your audience. Masses = IQ of 120 and below. 90% of the population. Elites = IQ of 120+. 10% of the population. To Appeal to The Masses? -Appear to be egotistical, a grandiose narcissist. -Talk dumb, like a 100 IQ person. Simple sentences, small words. -Your speech should emphasize emotion, not logic. It should have great style; the substance is almost irrelevant. To Appeal to Elites? -Appear calm. Low on neuroticism. Confident, not egotistical or narcissistic. -Talk smart, like a 130+ IQ person. Use words that articulate the information as clearly as possible (big words and complex sentence structure may help with this). However, don't make your language any more complex than it needs to be. Complex language to articulate points clearly is fine, manufacturing complexity to show off how high your verbal IQ is, is not. -Your speech must have substance, real content and information. If your speech is all style and not substance, elites will laugh at you. Elites are not dumb (like the masses); if your speech is all style no substance, all emotion no logic, they will see through it. Who appeals to the masses? -Mike Cernovich -Donald Trump -Oprah Who appeals to elites? -Sam Harris -Charles Murray -Illimitable Man TALKING TO THE MASSES: Make your speech vacuous. If you do a breakdown of the speaking of Cernovich, Trump, or Oprah, you will find that at least 90% of their words are vacuous; entirely devoid of any real content or actionable information. TALKING TO ELITES: Make your speech filled with concrete information. If your speech is vacuous, Elites (smart people) will assume you are either being intentionally deceptive (hiding information), or stupid (incapable of forming coherent thoughts). If you do a breakdown of the speaking of Sam Harris, Charles Murray, or Illimitable Man, you will find that for every 100 sentences they speak, they give 95 or more pieces of information. They have no wasted words; their words are filled with concrete information, and if you skip a paragraph of their speaking you will be missing out on information.

Game theory Game theory is a hypothesis that is used to explain different strategic actions of all the participants in the game. It applies to number of human interactions, and is the best possible method used by logical thinkers to further their gain. "A game is any interaction between multiple people in which each person's payoff is affected by the decision of others." Practically, any human interaction can be summed up as a game. Two main types of games can be- • Cooperative • Non-cooperative Cooperative games are the one where the participants can form alliances, e.g. a sports team, where in they are actively working to further their own and team's interests. These are games where almost everyone can be a winner. Non-cooperative Games are where alliances aren't made, are highly competitive and Self-serving. There will be some losers and some winners. The prisoner's Dilemma You have two convicts - Convict A and Convict B And their conditions for their time period in prison is as follows: 1. Both don't testify against each other, and get time period of 3 years. 2. A testifies against B, A is set free and B gets 7 years OR B testifies against A, B is set free and A gets 7 years. 3. Both testify against each other, and get a time period of 5 years. Now, in all the cases (for A or B) best strategy is to testify. The quiet of either can't be confirmed by either convict, and keeping quiet is net negative option for oneself. As such the dominant strategy of the game is to confess. And, best outcome where it benefits both (A and B) is to confess together, i.e. when they are charged with 5 years in prison. This is called the Nash Equilibrium. You may ask, why keeping quiet (condition 1) is not the best option as it benefits both; it is because quiet of other can't be confirmed, and humans have bias where they'll betray their closest if it serves their interest.
