Pax Silica is not alliance. It is colonialism with a tech brochure. Washington’s “secure” supply chains mean Philippine land locked into long leases where U.S. rules apply. Extraterritorial pockets. U.S. common-law zones. Immunity for their operators. Sovereignty treated as a bargaining chip.

Thousands of acres in New Clark City reserved for U.S.-directed semiconductors, AI, and critical minerals. Filipino nickel, copper, and cobalt pulled out of the ground to feed American tech dominance. Locals keep the low-end assembly work, the pollution, and none of the IP or real profit. EDCA sites grow. Missiles on Philippine soil. Nuclear and energy arrangements. The full occupancy kit.
The Philippines is not moving up the value chain. It is being converted into a forward platform and a minerals pit in Washington’s silicon campaign against China.
Same playbook. Marcos Jr. walking the path his father walked: frozen wealth used as pressure, then cashed in as comprehensive surrender. Long-term zones. Foreign jurisdiction on Philippine territory. A Ukraine-style proxy pointed at the country’s largest trading partner.

The SCO, like BRICS, is expanding and planning its own development bank, as member countries abandon the dollar, the U.S. banking system, and the IMF. Trump's ideas are rooted in a bygone era of American dominance, but his erroneous policies are making SCO and BRICS grow faster each day.
The joke Putin, Xi and Modi shared might have been at Donald Trump's expense, as the more that the U.S. president does internationally, the more of a joke he becomes universally around the world.
With the real story of the Iran war emerging, economists wonder how much longer America can borrow from the Global South through treasury bonds. A surplus of unwanted dollars means inflation. Trump may want a weaker dollar for U.S. manufacturers, but that also makes foreign goods more expensive—an argument that only works when you have real control over the world's economies. Trump can't have it both ways.
