Urethral Length: The female urethra is much shorter than the male urethra , A shorter urethra may not require the same level of muscular control at the bladder neck. Urinary and Reproductive Functions: In females, the urethra shares space with the vagina, which is the passageway for childbirth. Having a bulky internal sphincter muscle at the bladder neck might complicate childbirth. Hormonal Control: Females rely more on hormonal control of urination. Estrogen, for example, helps maintain the strength and elasticity of the urethral tissue, contributing to urinary continence.

Pelvic diameters ( conjugates ) In obstetrics , pelvic diameters are important to determine whether a pregnant woman will be able to give birth by vaginal delivery or not . Two important pelvic conjugates used to determine whether the fetus will be able to pass through the birth canal or not : - obstetric conjugate ( anteroposterior diameter ) : it’s a fixed diameter of 12 cm , through which the baby’s head must pass in vaginal delivery - diagonal diameter : this is measured between the sacral promontory and the inferior margin of pubic symphysis . This should measure about 11 cm. If the difference between the obstetric and the diagonal conjugates was 1-1.5 cm , therefore the pregnant woman will give birth by vaginal delivery If the difference was less than 1 cm , then the pregnant woman will have difficulty in vaginal delivery and may have to undergo a C-section in order to give birth . هالملاحظة انذكرت بالعملي لذلك انتبهو عليها .
