In Oceania molte sono le bandiere che mantengono l'Union Jack. Due isole, considerate stati associati, sono Niue e Cook, governate dalla Nuova Zelanda. Per Cook la bandiera nazionale e di stato a terra, venne approvata il 23 maggio 1979 ed entrò in vigore il 4 agosto successivo. Fu introdotta in seguito all’avvento al governo del Partito Democratico, di cui porta i colori blu e bianco. Il campo blu e l’Union Jack attestano gli antichi legami col Regno Unito e con la Nuova Zelanda. Fu un parziale ritorno al progetto originario, che però aveva il campo più chiaro, le stelle d’oro e il cantone più piccolo. Per Niue Island, la bandiera nazionale e di stato a terra, entrò in vigore dal 15 ottobre 1975 dopo il conseguimento dell’autogoverno. Il campo giallo-oro sta per lo splendore del sole e per l’amicizia verso la Nuova Zelanda. Nella grande stella d’oro al centro dell’Union Jack, si ravvisa la stessa isola, solitaria in mezzo all’oceano; le altre quattro stelle più piccole rappresentano la Croce del Sud.

Heraldry has had a rather heterogeneous development, but with rules that over time have dictated the necessary standards for listing and classifying the elements that compose a shield, but not all of them. On the other side of the world, in Japan, families also had their own coats of arms, called "mon," symbols imprinted primarily on clothing, but also on battle standards. With the arrival of the Europeans, the two elements merged, as in the two examples given. In the first, the coat of arms of Emperor Akihito as a foreign member of the Order of the Garter, the Chrysanthemum mon appears on a shield reproducing the imperial standard and is also repeated as a helmet crest, like a standard medieval knight. In the second, though less conspicuous, the Chrysanthemum appears surrounded by the collar of the Order of the Seraphim, Kingdom of Sweden.

The colors of Andorra, initially just red and yellow, were established in 1866 with the addition of blue at the behest of Napoleon III to balance the joint Franco-Spanish power. The tricolor, used as the national flag and still in use today, has been used as the state emblem since 1939, although due to its similarity to other flags (Chad and Romania), it eventually replaced the former for national use. The coat of arms bears the arms of the Bishop of Urgel in the first quarter, the Counts of Foix in the second, Catalonia in the third, and the Counts of Béarn in the fourth. To address the erroneous variants in circulation, the colors and coat of arms were codified in 1999, bringing it to the version still in use today. 🇦🇩
