The Guardian Project brings us Orbot, a free app for connecting to the TOR network using an app available through the F-Droid App store if you have The Guardian Project's Official Releases repository install in F-Droid. Rob Braxman mentioned it briefly in a video, so I decided to look into it. It is super easy to use. You install it, open it, and tap start to connect the Tor Network. You can enable or disable the "VPN Mode" to send all of your phone's data through Orbot essentially creating a Virtual Private Network (VPN) connection for your device. You can even select which country you appear to be from. Some downsides are: - Slower connection speeds - A lot of sites will refuse your connection - ALL of your encrypted personal data will be bounced around the world giving foreign bad actors easier access to it. State laws are being introduced to outlaw all forms of digital currency except state approved central bank digital currency (CBDC) which will be run & control by the fascistic public private partnership between government and the FED, a group of privately run banks in the USA. A central digital currency means they could very easily monitor & control your spending, & seize your assets with the tap of a key. Take a look at Project Hamilton, the FED's initiative to create a CBDC, which kicked off a pilot program last November. To securely install Session on Android do the following: 1. Follow these 👇 instructions to Download, verify & install the F-Droid App Store. 3. Install F-Droid by browsing to the "F-Droid.apk" file in the "Download" folder and opening it to install it. You can do this with "Material Files", which is available on F-Droid. 4. Open F-Droid —> Tap "Settings" in the lower right —> Tap "Repositories" —> Tap the "+" sign in the upper right —> Go to https://fdroid.getsession.org/ and copy & paste the "Repository address" and the "Fingerprint" into the boxes and tap "ADD" 5. Go to F-Droid's "Latest" tab (lower left), and swipe down to update repositories. Wait a few minutes. 6. In F-Droid, search for "Session - Private Messenger" and install it. . There are great open-source navigation apps for Android available on the F-Droid App Store, but they have one serious drawback, and that is they can't find most addresses. Fortunately there is a work-around for this. On F-Droid, the GMaps WV app will use and abuse Google Maps to get the coordinates of the address you seek, and then forward them to the open-source Navigation App of your choice, all the while blocking Google's telemetry attempts. Two popular open-source navigation apps are OsmAnd+ and Organic Maps. Both are available from the F-Droid App Store. Thanks to GMaps WV, the issue of not being able to find addresses has been mitigated until OpenStreet Maps gets to where address lookup works.
