. "Users and Groups" is a simple GUI tool for adding, managing, and deleting users and groups on a Linux system. It can be started with the "users-admin" command from the terminal, or you can hit the super key and search for "Users and Groups" that way. With "Users and Groups" there is no need to memorize command line commands and options for basic user and group management. Users and Groups comes installed by default on Linux Mint, and can be added to most systems by installing "gnome-system-tools" With this tool you can quickly do things like creating an sftp group, and then creating a separate user for the sftp group, or adding a current user to the sftp group. #Users_And_Groups

While the Linux Foundation's "COVID Green" vaccine passport is open source, it will not function without Google/Apple controlled APIs (Application Programming Interface). Also, the app is designed so that only one "entitlement" is provided per country and individuals cannot get their own entitlement for development. Allowing Google/Apple to control a country's "entitlement" puts that government in a position where they can be influenced and controlled by a corporation. Always remember what Stallman says, open-source software is not necessarily free software (as in freedom).

. These are the Linux Foundation's open source apps (but not free as in freedom) that allow the government to track you and decide whether or not you are a "good" citizen. COVID Green is the vaccine passport app, and COVID Shield is a contact tracing app. Of course anyone can branch the code and do what they want with the API requirements.

This is why we need to get onto open source, and why we need to be concerned about what the Linux Foundation is doing with things such as developing and deploying the vaccine passport systems that they talk about and are so proud of on their Linux Foundation Public Health website. . Themeforest has always been a good place to get professional looking "Responsive" WordPress themes. You can browse their WordPress themes here: https://themeforest.net/category/wordpress Click on a theme, and then click the "Preview Item" button to get a feel for what the theme looks like. You can then grab the side of your web browser window on your laptop, and make the window go wider, or more narrow, to see how the theme responds to different devices. If the theme does not redraw itself for a skinnier window, it is not a responsive theme, and will not look good on mobile phones. #ThemeForest_Webpage_Themes

. WordPress is the most popular way to create a website. It is based entirely on open-source, and runs on open-source software. Most web hosts will offer WordPress setup with just a few clicks. It is the website framework that many pro websites use. You can tell if a website is a WordPress site by going to the login page ( https://websitename/wp-login.php ), where it will bring up the typical WordPress login page with the WordPress logo. (Pro tip: You can change this logo to your own business logo to give your website a more professional look.) Building your own website is very easy and inexpensive, even for your own small business. The few times I have done it, the total cost was $300-$400 to get it up and running, complete with professional looking photos. The biggest cost is the amount of time you will put into creating your website. The second biggest cost is paying for "stock" photos ($200-$300). The third biggest cost is paying hosting fees ($100-ish/year), and the fourth biggest cost is buying a theme ($20-$60). Out of the gate, these newer Intel processors were winning on Win 11, but it now looks like Linux is taking the lead. 1st Place Finishes - Clear Linux = Pink 1st Place Finishes - Windows 11 = Orange 1st Place Finishes - Ubuntu 20.04 = Aqua Green Linux is now faster than Windows 11 on Clear Linux. Clear Linux is an independent distro designed for cloud computing, so it probably isn't the best desktop distro to use. Clear Linux does not have any of the typical package managers (apt, pacman, or yum/dnf), so it can be assumed many software packages will not be available for it. Ubuntu looks like it may also be faster, depending on how recent the kernel is. So switching from Win to Ubuntu isn't going to be a deal breaker on the new Intel CPUs. . EmperorLinux is a company based out of Georgia, USA, that has been selling systems for a long time. They have been selling systems since 1999 to a wide range of customers including science and engineering professionals, government agencies, universities, as well as corporate customers. Their systems are geared towards professionals and are more expensive, ranging from $1,900 to over $5,700 in price. They are the only place I know of that offer ruggedized Linux laptops, such as Getacs and Panasonic Toughbooks.
