. Signal is a great open-source messenger app that is available across all platforms. Linux, Android, MS, Apple, Linux phones, and iPhones. Signal end-to-end is the current standard that many chat apps, such as WhatsApp, follow and use. Signal won't use F-Droid because they say F-Droid app store is vulnerable to exploits. So if you want to install signal on Android w/out Play Store, they offer an APK and a signature key, but they don't make the APK easy to find. It is known that one of the biggest customers of Big Tech's data harvesting is Big Brother. They collect your data, keep it forever, and sell it to you know who. Use privacy web browsers and privacy extensions on your web browsers. 5. Buy with cash as much as possible, because they are collecting all you purchasing history as well if you are using debit cards.

You will see Oracle on many websites, collecting data. Oracle's database is used by many companies, so it looks like Oracle has integrated data collection schemes into their software to scan and collect info as people are using these company systems, and you can't do anything about it. My local credit union has an Oracle script trying to access my checking account history whenever I am looking over my account using a web browser. I can block the Oracle scripts with a script blocker, such as uMatrix or NoScript. If I use their Android app, I can't block the anything, so I bank through a web browser that blocks malicious scripts. #Oracle_Privacy_Invasion

Typically, when it comes to tracking and location information sharing, users are concerned about various apps that gain access to their phone’s GPS data, browsers laden with tracking cookies, and exposed IP addresses. But there is also the data gathering and intercepting that is happening at a deeper infrastructural level, obtained by carriers and collected as it is exchanged between a device and cell towers that provide mobile service. Technically, the solution to the problem encountered at this level is not complex, says the new company, INVISV, that is developing PGPP, which aims to give users private mobility connectivity. At the heart of the ability to carry out tracking at this level is the fact that each mobile network user is permanently identified by the international mobile subscriber identity (IMSI), a unique number sent by the mobile device (SIM card) to the network. As the phone connects to various cell towers depending on location and signal strength, carriers can track the location of the device all the time. And it doesn’t stop with telecoms, because IMSI catchers, or “stingrays” can also be used by attackers who wish to track a user for any number of reasons. PGPP’s promise is to “decouple” the device, that is, its user, from the IMSI. Instead of a permanent IMSI, INVISV says that its peer-reviewed security solution makes it possible to “periodically change your IMSI to a new random IMSI without requiring us to know your identity when making changes.” When using PGPP and rotating random IMSI’s, neither the cell tower nor INVISV know the user’s current identifying number. To complement this technique, PGPP also developed Relay, which acts to separate IP addresses from data traffic. Most people in need of this use VPNs.
