Happy birthday to the woman in whom I can see myself in every way; to the one who showed me that even if depression never fully disappears, it can be softened, that new and healthy people can enter your life and become a remedy for your darkness and your deep, aching holes. She showed me that it’s okay to show your wounds, that there’s no shame in them.
She was born to say, through poetry,
everything I can’t put into words and to tell it to the whole world.
And she's not a sixteen-year-old broken kid, just like I am not anymore.
