Dear Parents and Guardians,
I hope this message finds you well. We appreciate your ongoing support in ensuring the success and well-being of our students at Cambridge Academy Ethiopia.
As indicated in the 'You Said We Did' session held last month followed tasting arranged by Karavan, your valuable feedback has been taken into account and the school administration has decided to change the cafeteria in the school compound. The main reason for this change is to improve the quality and variety of food options for the students and staff. The new cafeteria offers a range of healthy and delicious meals, snacks and beverages at affordable prices.
The school administration hopes that this change will enhance the dining experience and the satisfaction of the school community. Attached please find the menu shared by Karavan. Please note that all lunch orders need to be placed one week in advance for timely delivery. For further details please visit the cafeteria.
Thank you for your continued support.

Dear Parents,
I hope this message finds you well. We recently had a productive "You Said, We Did" meeting, during which we discussed several important topics related to our school and the education of our children. Please see the attached document as a summary of the input I gave in relation to quality improvement, teacher evaluation and the parent charter.
Your input and concerns are invaluable to us, and we wanted to provide you with a summary of the key discussions and actions taken as a result:
1. Personal Social Education Curriculum: We are committed to enhancing our Personal Social Education curriculum to further support the holistic development of our students, we will ensure the concerns raised are addressed through the appointment of a qualified counsellor and a review of our PSHE curriculum.
2. Parent-Teacher Communication Platform: We are actively exploring options to improve our communication platform, making it more user-friendly and efficient for parents and teachers to stay connected. We expect the implementation to be concluded by the end of December.
3. Managing Increasing Student Numbers and Classroom Capacity: We are working on strategies to manage the increasing number of students, including optimizing class sizes and utilizing available resources effectively. We have a commitment to stay within our current 20:1 and 25:1 ratios. As reported our current student teacher ratio is 13:1, this is relatively low.
4. Teacher Retention: We are addressing concerns related to teacher turnover and working on retaining experienced and dedicated educators. We are confident that we have stalled the challenges we previously faced in this regard and we were happy to start the year with a full cohort of teachers.
5. Safety Rules: We are strengthening our safety protocols to ensure a secure learning environment for all students. We are becoming stricter in relation to ID cards and car stickers, our security are being continually updated in terms of their responsibilities and we are staffing more heavily the beginning and end of day routines.
6. Food Options: We are reviewing the food options available to students, focusing on healthier choices. We are committed to supporting parents in making healthy choices in their packed lunches and we are seeking to work with our catering partner to ensure food offered through our outlet is healthier and better quality.
7. Local Language Attention: We acknowledge the importance of local language and are taking steps to ensure it receives the attention it deserves in our curriculum. Our quality framework has a particular focus on local language learning and we recognise that this subject area requires improvement.
8. Homework Levels: We are revising the homework policy to strike a balance between academic rigor and the well-being of our students. We are seeking to ensure the amount of homework is manageable and is consistent within year groups and across subjects.
9. IGCSE Results Communication: We are very proud of our IGCSE results and we will ensure these results are celebrated via our social media channels.
We greatly appreciate your input and engagement during the meeting. Your feedback helps us make meaningful improvements to the educational experience of our students. If you have any further questions or suggestions, please feel free to contact us.
Thank you for your continued support in our shared commitment to your child's education.
Warm regards,
Mark Whitfield

Dear Parents,
Thank you to all of you for your patience as we endeavor to streamline the drop-off and pick-up time of your children at school. We will be introducing some minor modifications to the present system so that we can enhance the safety and security of this process. Further communication will follow next week regarding this. I noticed that many cars are still not displaying CAE car stickers and there are also outstanding student IDs to be collected from reception. If I am to have watertight security and safety around your children, I need every car entering the campus to display car sticker and every child to be in receipt of their school ID. Therefore as of next Friday, the 29th of September no car will be allowed to enter the campus without car sticker and no child will be released without presentation of student ID.
If you look at our school calendar as published on the school website, you will see that Wednesday, 27th September is marked as Mawlid and Thursday, 28th September as Meskel. We await confirmation for the exact date of Mawlid but we are definitely closed on Thursday 28th September.
We are very pleased to share with you our second bimonthly newsletter of the new school year. Please find it attached to this email.
Thank you for your continued support.

Dear Parents,
I hope this message finds you well. We appreciate your ongoing support and partnership in ensuring the success and well-being of our students at Cambridge Academy Ethiopia.
As you know, the traffic flow in the school compound was reversed last week for better facilitation of the traffic. However, it has been observed that the reversal of direction has added to the traffic congestion, especially at dismissal time. Therefore the traffic flow is going to be reversed back to how it was previously starting from Wednesday 20th September 2023.
Thank you for your usual cooperation.
