Altogether 12 entire countries in East Africa are now suffering severe internet outage. They can only access websites that have local servers. All access European hosted websites - including bank websites, and including howbad.info is blocked. The reason for the reduced internet is cutting and damage to telecoms cables under the sea, and damage to cables between East Africa and Europe, between Asia and East Africa and between East Africa and South Africa. The damage has all occurred in 1 month. It has prevented any transfers of money from UK to East Africa or vica versa. As a result people cannot book hotels through Booking.com, and cant even access Booking.com after they arrive. It will obviously damage trade and commerce. Last month West Africa also suffered internet shutdown/lockdown. People working for companies in South Africa by distance have been forced to jump onto planes and go to South Africa to carry on working - its that bad.
