"OPEC Plus": reducing oil production by about 1.5 million barrels per day starting next month Contrary to previous American requests, the leading members in the OPEC Plus organization announced today that starting this May and until the end of 2023, they will reduce oil production by approximately 1.5 million barrels of oil per day in aggregate, in order to "stabilize the global fuel market". Details of the reduction in yields: Saudi Arabia - will reduce by 500 thousand barrels per day. Russia will reduce by 500 thousand barrels per day. The United Arab Emirates will reduce by 144 thousand barrels per day. Kuwait will reduce by 128 thousand barrels per day. Iraq will reduce by 211 thousand barrels per day. Algeria will decrease by 48 thousand barrels per day Oman will reduce by 40 thousand barrels per day The reduction in output comes in addition to the reduction announced last November. 🟢 SOUTH AFRICAN MT RUSHMORE PLANNED FOR CAPE TOWN DAILY FRIEND STAFF WRITER APR 1, 2023 A South African version of the iconic American landmark, Mt Rushmore, is planned for Cape Town. Mt Rushmore, a mountain in South Dakota, has the faces of American Presidents George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, and Theodore Roosevelt, carved into it. The carving of the faces, which stand 18m high, was completed in 1941, having taken 14 years. Zizi Kodwa, the new minister of arts and culture, announced this week that the government was looking into the feasibility of carving the faces of iconic South Africans into the side of Table Mountain. Eastern Cape Education suspends three teachers for alleged sexual misconduct Cape Town - The Eastern Cape Department of Education has suspended three teachers from the Alfred Nzo East District for alleged sexual misconduct. This comes after DispatchLive reported that one of the pupils shaved her head bald to make herself unattractive to one of the teachers who was making sexual advances at her. It was reported that another pupil allegedly complained that one of the teachers grabbed her bottoms on school grounds and punished her for refusing to visit him at his home. On Monday, Eastern Cape Department of Education spokesperson, Mali Mtima, said that the teachers were suspended following a preliminary investigation.
