Daily Prayer for Persecuted Catholics and Growth in Faith Heavenly Father, We come before You with hearts full of compassion and faith. We pray for our brothers and sisters who are persecuted for their Catholic faith, especially those living in war-torn regions. Grant them courage, strength, and unwavering hope. Protect them under Your wings, and let their suffering be a testimony of Your enduring love. Lord Jesus, Help us to become better Catholics, rooted in love, humility, and truth. Guide our actions to reflect Your teachings, and inspire us to stand in solidarity with those who are oppressed. Through prayer, charity, and unity, may we bring light to the darkest corners of the world. Holy Spirit, Fill our hearts with wisdom and perseverance. Empower us to defend our faith with gentleness and respect, to live as faithful witnesses to the Gospel, and to grow ever closer to You through the sacraments. Mary, Queen of Peace, intercede for all who are suffering, and lead us to the heart of Your Son. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Bernadette after the apparitions The humble young lady chosen for such a great mission remained as she was before the apparitions. In other words the Virgin conserved her simple, humble and modest. She did not like the uproar and popularity. She seemed like any ordinary girl, except in her virtues, innocence, candor and honesty in works. She piously received her First Holy Communion that same year on June 3, 1858, the Feast of Corpus Christi. God continued visiting her, not with brilliant apparitions, but through the bitter trial of sufferings: of incomprehension, mockery and ridicule, she was ill most of the time, she withstood all types of pain, but she maintained herself recollected with patience. She suffered from chronic asthma, tuberculosis, vomiting blood, aneurism, gastritis, tumor in the knee, cavities in the bones, and abscesses in the ear leading to deafness. Shortly before death she slightly regained hearing. The Virgin had said to Bernadette: β€œI promise to make you happy, not in this world, but in the next.” These words of the Virgin were fulfilled fully in our saint. She suffered much during her life until her death at the age of 35. Bernadette’s health was very delicate; she was often in bed with high fevers and experienced many critical days with painful attacks of asthma. Many found a cure in the fountain of Lourdes, but not Bernadette. One day she was asked: β€œWhy don’t you drink from the water of the fountain? This water has cured others, why not you?” This insidious question could have become a temptation for Bernadette, but she was not disturbed. Bernadette responded: β€œThe Blessed Virgin perhaps desires for me to suffer. I need it.” β€œWhy you more than others?” β€œThe good God knows.” β€œWill you return to the grotto again?” β€œWhen the Pastor permits it.” β€œWhy doesn’t he permit it all the time?” β€œBecause all the people follow me.” β€œYou have gone before even though it was prohibited.” β€œThis was because I was pressured.” β€œThe Virgin said you will be happy in another world; therefore are you sure you are going to heaven?” β€œO no, this is only if I do what is good.” β€œDidn’t she tell you what to do to go to heaven?” β€œYou know it very well; it is not necessary for me to repeat it.”

The Christian population in the middle east is officially doomed. I know many of you (me included to a major degree) believe a Christian defeat came as early as when the Kataeb was forced to surrender to Hezbollah, but Bashar was the actual last leader in that region that showed even a slight respect for us. It's not fully their fault, but so much for "Holy Russia Protector of Christendom", am I right? The second things went south they abandoned everything. 13 years, an ocean of blood shed, countless lives ended either literally or metaphorically, untold cultural damage to the richest region in the world. 13 wasted years. In the next few years, expect many of our brothers to either go destitute, face martyrdom or apostasy. Help middle eastern Christians in any way you can.

THE SAINT, THE HEART, AND THE DUCT --- Bl. Niels Stensen was a Danish bishop who was also a scientist. Unlike the scientists during his time who adhered to traditional explanations concerning everything, he chose to question what was usually taught. He’s more famous for being a geologist. But he was also an anatomist. He concluded that the heart is an ordinary muscle and not the source of warmth as believed by the scientists then. He discovered a salivary duct. It is now called Stensen's duct, or the parotid duct, which is the pathway for saliva to move from the parotid gland (major salivary gland) to the mouth.

NOVEMBER 27: SOLIDARITY WITH PERSECUTED CHRISTIANS Red Wednesday --- In the Philippines, Red Wednesday is held on Wednesday after Christ the King Sunday. It is a day of solidarity with the persecuted Christians all over the world. It is also a day of honoring the recognized and unrecognized Christian martyrs since the beginning of the Church. It began in 2016 in the United Kingdom. Today, Catholics are encouraged to wear red. Churches and Catholic school buildings are draped or illuminated in red.

NOVEMBER 18: A POLISH MARTYR OF CHASTITY Blessed Karolina Kozka Virgin and Martyr Died: 1914 --- At a young age, Karolina already manifested Christian virtues. During the First World War, the Russian army came to their town. One day, a Russian soldier attempted to rape her. She resisted the soldier's attempt. The soldier stabbed her many times with a bayonet. She got the chance to run but she fell near the swamps and died there due to severe blood loss. She was able to preserve her virginity. She was only 16.

α›αš»α›‹ α›‰α›ˆα›‹ These Old English Futhorc runes adorn the coffin of St. Cuthbert, one of the greatest Anglo Saxon saints. It's a Christogram, transliterated to IHS XPS, which itself is a shortened transliteration of Ἰησοῦς Ξ§ΟΞΉΟƒΟ„ΟŒΟ‚ which, finally, is Greek for Jesus Christ.
