Hi, everyone I am Mr. Sebebu. If we say this much about syllogism which is the most common question in SAT Exam, let us practice some questions.

We can conclude on the basis of the above two statements that "All men wear caps" However the validity of the conclusion is important. Not all conclusions need to be valid. Only those two propositions which lead to a valid conclusion are relevant to our cause.

Syllogism has been defined as “A form of reasoning in which a conclusion is drawn from two given or assumed propositions”. It is deductive reasoning rather than inductive reasoning. It can be stated that an important part of the exam is Syllogism in reasoning. You will invariably see 3 – 5 questions based on syllogism formula in the reasoning section of most of the competitive exams. Let us take two propositions as follows: All men are old.All old wear caps.

Q. In the word ‘CHAIRS’, how many pairs of the letters have the same number of letters between them in the word as in alphabet? 1. 1          2. 3 3. 4         4. 2

. If the name of a game is formed by rearranging the letters of the word MODBANTIN, then what will be the first and the last letter of the name? 1. A, T           2. N, D 3. B, N          4. B, T Here the name of the game that will be formed is Badminton. And its first and last letters are B and N. Thus option (3) is the correct answer.

ሽማግሌው ሲጠባበቁት የነበረው አውቶብስ ስለመጣላቸው ለመሳፈር ተጠግተዋል፡፡ እግራቸውን አንስተው ወደ ውስጥ ሲገቡ በአጋጣሚ የአንድ እግር ጫማቸው ተንሸራቶ ውጭ ይቀራል፡፡ መልሰው ጫማቸውን ማግኘት ሳይችሉ አውቶብሱ መንቀሳቀስ ጀመረ፡፡ በዚህ ጊዜ ሽማግሌው ምንም አይነት የብስጭት ቃላት ሳያሰሙ የቀሪ እግራቸውን ጫማ ያወልቁና በመስኮት በኩል አሾልከው ወደ ውጭ ይጥሉታል፡፡ የሽማግሌውን ድርጊት ውስጥ ሁኖ ይመለከት የነበረ ወጣት ተሳፋሪ ለሽማግሌው እንዲህ ሲል ጥያቄውን አቀረበላቸው፡፡ “አባት ሲያደርጉ የነበሩትን ነገር እያየሁ ነበር፡፡ ለምንድን ነው ቀሪውን ጫማ የወረወሩት?” አላቸው፡፡ ሽማግሌውም ወዲያውኑ እንዲህ ሲሉ መለሱለት “ ይኸውልህ ልጄ ሾልኮ የቀረውን ጫማ ሊጠቀሙበት የሚችሉት ይሄኛውም አብሮ ሲኖር ነው፡፡ እናም ለማንኛውም ያገኘው አካል ጥቅም እንዲሰጠው ወይም ዋጋ እንዲኖረው ስል ነው ይሄኛውን ጨምሬ መወርወሬ” አሉት፡፡ “የማትጠቀምበት ነገር ሁሉ ያንተ አይደለም!” *** ከማንጠቀምበት ላይ ለመስጠት ለምን እንፈራለን?
