I’ve been accepting every offer just to waste companies time antivaccs @ Meta I have no interest in working at these places. It doesn’t take all that from me to go through background checks and stay at a company for months until they realize I’m not doing any work because I have a primary job and am self employed. How to get alignment with the wife to increase the frequency of 1:1s? impacc2 @ Meta I regularly get 'exceeds expectations' from her but I still can't get a weekly 1:1. My skip is living with us and I think my wife doesn't want the skip to know we have frequent 1:1s. I was on PIP before but with thorough practice and study I passed and my performance has been good since, but it did cause friction. Can that be the reason? Now the entire DEI team is gone, people in Engineering, Legal, Sales, & support. We haven't had a CMO or marketing department for the last 6 months, so we can't layoff there 🤷‍♀️ For the ones that spoke up about the layoffs withing our company wide chat channel & calling out Eric & leadership about lying, breaking trust, killing our culture, executive leadership has retaliated by letting that person go too! Friend got PIP’d and quit on the spot yolo242 @ New Friend during 1:1 got PIP’d unexpectedly and quit on the spot, 45 day PIP. Just promoted 4 months ago. Manager flipped out and told him that leaving without notice is not “fair”. Friend simply explained that we all know what a PIP does and if anyone has successfully overcome a PIP to let him know the success rate. Manager then offers to rescind the PIP if he stays with company and they will “work with him to get another role internally”. Knowing that was BS, friend tells him, “No thank you” and leaves the meeting. PIP reason cited communication with cross functional leaders as inconsistent, but feedback in writing from those said leaders is overwhelmingly positive. Manager was recently embarrassed on an executive call on not knowing how products work, but friend did. He thinks that his ego took a hit and is taking it out on him with a PIP. The strange twist is that HR reached out to everyone on the team individually to compliment them on their performance and invited them to a “career roadmap” meeting. What is the game plan with this? Recently I reached out to my friend(recruiter at meta) and asked why am I not getting any responses for applying there. They checked my profile and told me that my profile is marked ineligible to rehire... basically a blacklist... Both my google referrals passed away wu2js @ Google I have referred around 20 people to google. 3 made it to offer state. 2 accepted the offer. 1 of them had a heart attack last year and passed away. He was my manager at my last job and well liked. The second one had unfortunate car accident last week and passed away. He was a friend of friend. I felt terrible both the times.
