This saves them time and money to a certain degree. Another positive side of having modern household appliances like refrigerators is flexibility. That is, people may cook more food than enough once a day and keep it in the fridge for the next lunch. As a result, they could engage in their leisure time activities instead of preparing a second meal for their day. However, the downsides of the aspiration for widespread ownership are more significant than the abovementioned conveniences. Firstly, this development is more likely to cause environmental issues. To meet the demand for cars and other household equipment and machines, a lot of resources are utilized, leading to resource depletion. Secondly, the pursuit of ownership may create a noticeable disparity between the rich and the poor. Not everyone has the financial means to afford those kinds of items: automobiles and costly devices. This, in turn, leads to serious social inequalities. In conclusion, owning a car, TV and fridges can offer free time and conveniences for people.
