Pro Tip for Mains-26: Reviewing 100s of Gs copies everyday in the MIG gives me the following insights: 1. People who have already done well at mains stage have one thing in common: consistency, writing everyday without fail, helping them improve further. Shows how they must have done it in previous years as well. 2. 3-4 copies everyday stand out since it is clearly visible in them that the student has made extra effort. For instance: for a question on Mapping socio cultural diversity of India, only 2 people out of 100+ made small maps for each sub head, plotting diversity on religion, language, ethnicity, food habits etc. πŸ‘‰πŸ½When you show effort like this, the evaluator tends to read the answer with more interest and if the content too is relevant then you often get rewarded higher marks. 3. Presentation is also part of the effort that i have discussed in above point. Probably 20 odd copies out of 100+ everyday will have neat presentation along with some visual elements where needed. Those copies always stand out and get you better scores more often than not. Ethics MIG-26 Batch-2 starts on 3rd July(AIR 15, 37, 66, 101, 146, 181, 197 from it last year) PSIR MIG-26 started today(gave the highest scorer of PSIR last year) History MIG-26 started today- taken by me(281 in 2022) got two rankers last year with Garv scoring a really good 288 in Optional.

Very important Pro Tip for Mains-26: Read to avoid unproductive ways of spending last 58 days before Mains-26: 1. All people writing Mains are smart enough to know that access to relevant information and content is way easier now than it was 2-3 years ago. 2. Relevant keywords, data, facts, committees, case laws, examples, diagrams, maps flow charts and even ready made intros, conclusions and value added points from topper copies is easily available to everyone. 3. And since it is readily available to everyone, those who have done sufficient writing practice to reproduce it will get that 430+ in GS, 115+ in Essay and 270+ in optional paper(or a total of 815+). 4. Still many will waste hours on consuming lectures containing the same information that can be learnt through text based easily available rich content in 10-15 minutes. Still most will spend countless number of hours finding information and trying to rote learn that information without practice. The same time could be used for revising content and practicing it on writing and analysis of answers, comments, model answers and peer copies. 5. Everything boils down to one thing: are you disciplined enough to spend 40% of your remaining time before Mains on writing answers, analysing them, and ensuring the next answer is better than the last? Remaining 60% of your other time can go in reading and revising information for GS, Essay and Optional and watching lectures/test discussion videos should be avoided. 6. Remaining motivated and consistently improving your answer writing can be done by one simple method: write few answers everyday(5-10 of GS and 5-7 of Optional) and at certain intervals plan to write FLTs. Get them evaluated by those who have scored better than you, those who know what minor changes are needed to improve your score by 0.5-2 marks in each answers. Do your own analysis by looking at peer copies, model answers, looking your core content and asking AI, google. 7. There is still good enough time to write 600+ GS and Optional(humanities ones) answers, 10-12 Essay topics, analyse them and improve your content and writing in the remaining time. Every answer on predictable themes you do not write today becomes a mark you may not score on the day of exam. And a good answer is not written in the exam hall; it is written in the hundreds of answers attempted before it.

Pro Tip for improving scores in GS-1 As per what we know about the process of evaluation: 1. The GS-1 paper is evaluated by different experts of History, Sociology and Geography for different sections. This is the reason why it becomes difficult to score higher in GS-1 since even if you write really good answers of one section the positive impression doesn’t spill over to other sections. 2. You must therefore be ready to adopt subject specific approaches for History, Geography and Society questions. For History questions: 1. To make your answers History like awareness of timeline of events should be clearly visible(mention rough dates/year in bracket for each event you’re mentioning). 2. Intro can be about backdrop of the subject asked for modern and world history, conclusion can be writing crux of analysis or showing importance of the topic asked. 3. For Art and Culture questions, give as many examples as possible for questions implicitly demanding so. For Geography 1. Micro Maps of India and world and Diagrams where necessary. You should make it a habit that you don’t take a lot of space yet show additional information with proper labelling in maps and diagrams. 2. Certain keywords, facts on predictable topics like Water, Cyclone, Earthquakes, tectonics etc be presented. Flowcharts/diagrams are necessary in such questions to make a better answers. 3. The Geography answers must be visual as the subject itself demands explanations through maps/diagrams etc. For Society Part 1. Sociological jargon/keywords must be used heavily. 2. Write recent case laws and observations made by Higher courts related to topics of Migration, Urbanisation, women’s issues etc to make your answers fresh and unique. MIG-26 for GS-1,2,3 starts on 25th June. Mains and interview appeared discounts applicable till tomorrow Text at @csetopper_helpline to reserve your seat in GS, Essay, PSIR and History MIGs.
