Some people believe in a city, the best way of traveling is by car while others argue that bicycles are better way of travelling.
Discuss both views and give your opinion.
There is a debate over what transport is best for traveling around cities, with some saying cars are better and others arguing bicycles are the optimal transport for this. In my opinion, while bikes are more eco-friendly and offer freedom to explore, cars will remain the best vehicles as they are more convenient and safer.
It is true that cycling has gained more popularity among travelers due to its environmental and health benefits. Firstly, biking provides an excellent opportunity to burn some calories and stay active, addressing the main concern of most citizens as they have a hectic and unhealthy lifestyle. Moreover, as cyclists pedal their way to their destination, they drastically reduce their carbon footprint. By keeping their footprint significantly lower and minimizing reliance on fossil fuels, travelers contribute to the environmental preservation and support the concept of responsible tourism. Another benefit is avoiding from traffic congestion, allowing people can cover more ground than driving, traverse distances that are tedious to drive, and reach attractions that may be outside the typical tourist zones. Therefore, traveling short distances on a bike is the ideal option for sightseeing in a busy city or town.
However, traveling by car on either short or long trips has a number of advantages that are nearly impossible with bikes. Firstly, the most obvious of all the benefits is convenience, which means that choosing cars for trips allows travelers to take their kids, partners, or family members and carry their luggage with them, which creates more enjoyable journeys. Furthermore, travelers can remain sheltered from extreme temperatures, rain, or strong winds, which might not be as comfortable on a bike. One reason cars are the ultimate vehicle for city travel is their ability to provide high-quality experiences, prioritizing everyone’s health to the maximum extent. This is because cars provide both drivers and passengers with a protective barrier and safety features such as seatbelts and airbags, which can offer a piece of mind.
In conclusion, despite being more friendly to the environment and faster during rush hours, in my opinion, bicycles are overshadowed by cars because of the convenience and security they offer when it comes to traveling in cities.
