I wrote this one back in March when I was really feeling the winter blues. O Sweet Sunna By Dave Martel I wish sweet Sunna would blow her horn To beckon bold, and brightened skies. And summon forth the golden morn. So the sun may fight to rise, Force the cold to hold its scorn, Before the burning mighty eyes, Of summer's child foretold to born, Days of warm and rising tides, Of warmth that fills the air with song, A chorus, rich and clear, That celebrates the sun so strong, The end of winter's drear. The golden rays, a healing balm, That kisses earth's embrace, A promise that the dark will calm, And warmth will fill the space. For sweet Sunna, in her wake, Leaves us renewed, reborn, To bask in summer's glory, make Our days as bright as morn.

Finally got my home gym all set up. The temple of pump has reopened its sacred gates. Big Dave gorilla arc is nigh. I’m gonna beat these injuries and get back to my primal form.

I just deleted my post I was going to write because I heard the issue is going to be handled behind closed doors. This is good and respect to the leadership involved. Big love and respect for that. But the days of baseless slander and accusations in the folk community are over. We must absolutely call out Nithings and exile them. But accusations MUST come with irrefutable evidence. It is a spiritual crime to smear a man's reputation. Slander is ergi. From now on, I am going to be using what little power I have to stomp this behavior out. And I ask my brothers and sisters to follow suit. We will debate, disagree and even get into all out fights. But we must do so honorably and in accordance with the laws commanded by our forefathers. Accusations MUST come with receipts. The folk are absolutely exhausted with childish, ergi infighting and grudges over nonsense. Worst of all being the spread of rumors and slander. It is the lowest of all.

Dave Vincent is right. As much as I love extreme metal and enjoy the old death metal albums, it was a transgressive genre with the goal of pushing all the boundaries. There’s a ceiling to it all. There’s only so fast a human can play. Once the shock value of gruesome lyrics lose their luster and you’ve already heard the heaviest possible riffs, it has nowhere else to go. Which is why death metal has become a stale genre. It wasn’t a tradition built on foundations of beauty or melody. Which is why many aging death metal fans have found homes in stoner/doom, psych rock and other post-metal genres. Traditions ebb and flow but stay forever. Transgressive and rebellious artforms inevitably decay and die after their purpose has been fulfilled.
