| 6 | Dr Berecha Bayissa, the operations Deputy Director General, stressed the importance of the workshop and presented the general principles in vaccine development road map with specific experiences of NVI in this regard.
Dr Mirtineh Akalu, the R&D Directorate Director said the main objective of the workshop is to show the success stories of NVI in veterinary vaccine research and production in the last 60 years. He further presented the six decades of NVI’s vaccine research outputs.
Meanwhile, the workshop brought together the main performers and professionals in vaccine technology to understand the current situation and address future concerns with sharing of experiences.
The National Veterinary Institute is the sole public institute that supports the livestock sector through production and supply of quality veterinary vaccines, drugs and biological with affordable prices for both domestic and export markets. | 0 |

| 9 | National Workshop held at National Veterinary Institute on Advances in Vaccinology
The Research and Development directorate of the National Veterinary Institute (NVI) organized two day national workshop on Advances in Vaccinology which as conducted from 5 - 6 September 2024 within the premises of the Institute at Bishoftu, Ethiopia.
Dr. Dangachew Beyene, Deputy Board chair of NVI, Pro. Afework kassu, Director General of AHRI-, Dr. Hamid Jemal Deputy Director General for livestock at, Ethiopian Agricultural Authority and other professional’s from Academia, research, service delivery, regulatory and stakeholders in vaccine value chain were participated on the workshop.
Dr. Takele Abayneh, Director General of NVI, mentioned on his opening speech that this kind of workshop, where almost all stakeholders participated, helps the institute to discuss recent scientific advances contributing to veterinary and human vaccine research development and the challenges in veterinary vaccine value chain for better vaccine accessibility to address the demands of the country’s and foreign vaccine demand. | 0 |

Workshop Objectives
- To show success stories of veterinary vaccinology research and vaccine production for the last 60 years at NVI.
- Discuss recent scientific advances contributing to veterinary and human vaccine research development implementation , and real world evaluation
- An overview of the regulatory framework in the vaccine value chain in Ethiopia as well as evaluating the role of vaccines in preventing and mitigating existing, emerging, and re-emerging infectious diseases in animals
- Discuss the role of veterinary vaccine in combating antimicrobial resistance and alternative strategies to fight AMR

| 13 | During the award ceremony , Dr Takele mentioned he feels honored to forward the recognition award and indicated that the Joint FAO/IAEA Centre has played key roles in capacity building of the research and diagnostic laboratories of NVI through donation state of art equipments, technical training of laboratory staffs and supply of reagents and supplies. Congratulating NVI for its success, Dr Dongxin Feng expressed her appreciation for NVI in recognizing IAEA and indicated that the recognition shows the one of the fruits of the Centre which will also be celebrating its the 60th anniversary in 2024. She added, the Joint FAO/IAEA Centre is committed in supporting NVI as well as other African and Asian Vet. Laboratories.
The recognition session was attended by Dr Farai Muchadeyi, Section Head of the Joint FAO/IAEA Centre , Dr Viskam Wijewardana, Head of Animal Production and Health Laboratory (AHPL) of the joint Centre, Dr Charles Lamien, Scientific Secretary of the Centre, representatives from VETLab donors, staffs of the Joint FAO/IAEA Centre and APHL , and Vet. On the occasion of its 60th Anniversary, the National Veterinary Institute (NVI) of Ethiopia recognizes the IAEA of the joint FAO/IAEA centre for its significant contribution to NVI during its 60 year journey. Dr Takele Abayneh, Director General of the institute forwarded the recognition award to the Dr Dongxin Feng, director of the Joint FAO/IAEA Centre on the special award session held on 23 August 2024 on African and Asian Veterinary Laboratory directors Meeting held at IAEA head quarter, Vienna, Austria. | 0 |

| 16 | በተለያዩ የኢንስቲትዩቱ የስራ እንቅስቃሴዎች ላይ ከሰራተኞች ለተነሱ ጥያቄዎችና አስተያየቶች በአመራሩ ማብራሪያ የተሰጠ ሲሆን በአጠቃላይ ሠራተኛውና ስራ አመራሩ በ2016 በጀት ዓመት አፈፃፀም ላይ ያጋጠሙ የዉስጥና ዉጫዊ ችግሮች ላይ ዉይይት በማድረግ ቀጣይ የኢንስቲትዩን አፈፃፀም የተሻለ ለማድረግና ለተሻለ ስኬት ሁሉም የበኩሉን እንደሚወጣ የጋራ ግንዛቤ ላይ ተደርሷል፡፡
በ2017 በጀት አመት እቅድ ላይ በተደረገው ውይይት ስራ አመራሩና ሰራተኛው በእቅዱ ላይ የጋራ ግንዛቤ በመውሰድ ለእቅዱ መሳካት የሚያጋጥሙ ችግሮችን አፋጣኝ መፍትሔ በመስጠት ተናቦ መስራት እንዲሚገባ መግባባት ላይ ተደርሷል፡፡
በሠራተኛው በኩል ነባራዊ የኑሮ ውድነት ጋር ተያይዞ ጥያቄ የተነሳ ሲሆን፣ የኢንስቲትዩቱ ስራ አመራር ለጉዳዩ ትኩረት ሰጥቶ ከሚመለከተው የተቋሙ የበላይ አመራር ጋር ችግሩን ለማቃለል እየተሰራ ያለዉ የመዋቅር ጥናት ያለበት ደረጃ ለሰራተኛዉ ተገልጿል፡፡
በመጨረሻም በበጀት ዓመቱ የስራ አፈጻጸም ለኢንስቲትዩቱ ጉልህ አስተዋጾ ላበረከቱ ሰራተኞች የእዉቅናና የሽልማት ስነ-ስርዓት ተካሂዷል፡፡
ብሔራዊ የእንስሳት ጤና ጥበቃ ኢንስቲትዩት ከሰሀራ በታች ከሚገኙ የአፍሪካ ሀገራት ትልቁ የእንስሳት በሽታ መከላከያ ክትባት ማምረቻ ተቋም ሲሆን በአሁኑ ወቅት 23 የክትባት ዓይነቶችን በማምረት ለሃገር ውስጥና ለውጭ ሃገር ደንበኞች እያቀረበ የሚገኝ ተቋም ነዉ፡፡
