A great read by The Sharp Plays Washington/Michigan Public Money Splits I don't use that fucking bullshit ticket and money percentages to derive these numbers or use the same methodology of those bullshit providers. I go into the market for the same at two global sportsbooks I work with. I sort all the bettors rated as public by the book who are involved in the market. I then get a graphic that shows me of the money in the market I am analyzing...here is the percentage of the money placed by public rated bettors on one side versus the other (side and total). All those fucking idiots out there who do the....58% of tickets are on Michigan and 61% of money is on Washington....HOW DOES THAT HELP?!?! It doesn't. Do you know if those tickets or that money is mostly public or sharp? You can't assume because DraftKings or MGM put out the numbers that those are all squares. Sharps use beards all the time and well at domestic books to get action down. Beards are square (losing) bettors who will put down action for someone else and that action gets masked because overall the bettor placing it is a loser. With that said, here are the public dollar percentages averaged at two global offshore books on the wagers shown... Spread: Washington 60% (This morning Michigan was 54%) Huge public money came in and swung to Washington this afternoon. Moneyline: Washington 53% Because Washington is plus money, the impact would be greater than the 53% might illustrate on a Washington outright win. Total: OVER 64% The best outcome changed from this morning and now it is a Michigan win and cover...but the UNDER remains the key on the total for the book. Sharp money leans small to UNDER, but at 56.5...very tiny at current 56 price. Sharp money is mixed/flat on the side. Not enough to offset the Washington public money in terms of book need level. Remember, just because the book wants something to hit does not mean it will hit.
