Tartini’s style initially followed the Baroque tradition and evolved into a virtuosic pre-Classical style. The „Tartini tones“—combination tones produced when two different notes are played simultaneously—were named after him. 👌 The Devil’s Trill Sonata in G minor from 1730, for solo violin and basso continuo, is one of Tartini’s best-known works. According to Tartini, the sonata’s creation was preceded by a dream the composer had, in which the devil played a sonata of exquisite beauty, which Tartini attempted to recreate upon waking.
