The fact that Philo of Alexandria speaks of the Logos in a way that can be considered very close to the Logos of St. John is not evidence of John borrowing from Philo, it is simply a Providential affirmation that not even the the highest peak of of all Judaic thought (which has never since surpassed the genius of Philo, in my opinion) was able to measure up against a simple man writing under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit

I continue to believe that any alliance with the Israeli Right is always a losing proposition because we are trading their continued sovereignty/influence for promises that they will use it to address some of our concerns. We want Americans to be sovereign, not foreigners. That is our overriding priority, not some tenuous commitment to address one or some of our concerns.
