An Indian-origin cardiac surgeon Dr. Sudhir Srivastava, has set a world record by performing the 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐲 from Guyana in India using a Made-in-India surgical robotic system technology. The world's longest-distance robotic cardiac telesurgery sets a new global benchmark in medical innovation. The tele-surgery was remotely conducted between Georgetown Public Hospital in Guyana and IRCAD India in Indore.

After a meeting with the Union Ministry of Shipping, Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari announced that, after Kochi, which was the 17th city, the Centre has now given policy approval for Kolkata’s Water Metro project. The system will provide a fast, eco-friendly, and alternative public transport link across the Hooghly River.
