*NTA Extends CUET (UG) 2025 Application Deadline* New Delhi, March 22, 2025: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced an extension for the submission of online applications for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET UG) 2025. This decision was made in response to multiple requests from candidates, allowing more students to apply for the exam. The CUET (UG) 2025 is scheduled to be held between May 8, 2025, and June 1, 2025, in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode. *Rains, Snow Continue To Lash Kashmir Valley; More Expected* Intermittent Rains Continue In Kashmir, MeT Predicts More Srinagar- Jammu and Kashmir witnessed continuous rain and snowfall for the third consecutive day, with the Meteorological Department predicting more precipitation over the next 24 hours. Upper reaches of Kashmir including Gulmarg, Sonamarg, Peer Ki Gali, Zojila Pass, and Sadhna Top received fresh snowfall, while intermittent rains lashed the plains, including Srinagar, on Friday. The MeT department issued a yellow alert for Saturday, warning of intermittent light to moderate rain in most areas and snowfall in the higher reaches. Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad, Director of the MeT Department, stated that a brief spell of light rain and snow is expected at a few places in the morning, with weather conditions improving by the afternoon. He further predicted generally dry weather across Jammu and Kashmir from March 17 to 24. Independent weather forecaster Aadil Maqbool also anticipated moderate to heavy rainfall in the region over the next 24 hours. “Good rainfall activity is expected across Kashmir, with snowfall over higher reaches, including Gulmarg, Sonamarg, Doodhpathri, Yousmarg, and some middle reaches of Shopian, Kulgam, and Kupwara,” Maqbool said. He added that weather conditions are likely to improve by the night of March 16 or early March 17. Meanwhile, the MeT department issued an advisory urging travelers, tourists, and transporters to adhere to administration and traffic guidelines. Farmers have been advised to suspend agricultural activities until March 16. The advisory also warned people against visiting avalanche-prone areas, highlighting the risk of landslides, mudslides, and shooting stones at vulnerable locations. The fresh spell of snowfall and rain has also led to a rise in water levels across the Valley’s water bodies. At 6:00 PM, the water level in the Jhelum River was recorded at 1.38 ft at Sangam and 3.86 ft at Ram Munshi Bagh. Other streams and rivers, including Vaishow Nallah and Wular, were also flowing above zero level.

Jammu Kashmir Admin Establishes Old Age Homes in 19 Districts SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir administration has established residential old age homes in 19 districts, offering senior citizens healthcare facilities and recreational activities, official data reveals. The data states that three senior citizen day care homes are presently operational in Jammu and Srinagar, providing secure spaces for elderly citizens to socialise and access necessary services. Two old age homes in Anantnag and Ganderbal were constructed in 2023-24 at a cost of Rs 21 crore, providing shelter and care to the elderly population. As many as 809 special camps for senior citizens were conducted across the Union Territory, attended by 51,000 senior citizens. The data also states that 31 geriatric caregivers have been trained to deliver specialised social services to elderly citizens, ensuring their physical and mental well-being. Furthermore, it reveals that the government has reached out to 7,22,093 elderly citizens through various welfare schemes and programmes during 2024-25, aiming to cater to their social and healthcare needs. “The Senior Citizen Day Care Centre in Srinagar has emerged as a hub of activities for the elderly, offering recreational activities, counselling sessions, and periodic health check-ups,” the data adds.

Medical Physics Technician (Notification No. 02 of 2021, Item No. 206) Candidates can find the provisional answer key for the question paper (Series A, B, C, D) in the annexures attached to the notice.
