But the stock is also quite volatile, with a standard deviation (a measure of random fluctuations) of 20%. Over a year, the GBM model would simulate the stock price as follows: Trend Effect: Your ₹10,000 might be expected to grow by 8%, so you might expect it to be around ₹10,800. Random Effect: However, due to market unpredictability, the actual value could be higher or lower. Maybe the stock goes up to ₹12,000 due to favorable conditions, or it drops to ₹9,000 due to a market downturn. GBM captures this randomness, giving a range of possible outcomes rather than a single prediction. In summary, GBM is a way to model and understand how the value of investments like stocks can change over time, accounting for both expected growth and the unpredictability of the market.

The scenario I mentioned here involves the U.S. buying yen, which can impact Japan's stock market in several ways. Here's a detailed explanation: Yen Appreciation Purchase of yen because of high recession in US. Yen is considered stable. When the U.S. buys yen, the demand for yen increases, leading to its appreciation against the dollar. A stronger yen can negatively affect the Japanese stock market for several reasons: Export Competitiveness: Japan is an export-driven economy, and a stronger yen makes Japanese goods more expensive abroad. This can reduce the competitiveness of Japanese products, leading to lower sales and profits for Japanese exporters. Corporate Earnings: Many Japanese companies earn a significant portion of their revenues from overseas markets. A stronger yen means that when these companies repatriate their earnings, the value in yen terms decreases, hurting their profitability. Investor Sentiment: Currency fluctuations can impact investor confidence. If investors anticipate that a stronger yen will harm corporate earnings and economic growth, they might sell off Japanese stocks, leading to a market decline. Recession Impact If the U.S. is buying yen due to a recession, the situation becomes more complex: Global Economic Slowdown: A recession in the U.S., the world's largest economy, can lead to a global economic slowdown.
