The world's largest transformer producer, Hitachi Energy, has cautioned that the industry is "overwhelmed" by surging demand for grid equipment, posing risks to timely completion of critical infrastructure projects needed to expand renewable energy globally. CEO Andreas Schierenbeck emphasized that transformer manufacturers face challenges in rapidly increasing production to meet demand from utilities and data centers, which has been intensified by the growth of AI. Transformers, essential for efficiently transmitting power from plants to end users, are complex and labor-intensive to produce, with lead times extending to three to four years due to supply chain constraints. Schierenbeck warned that delays are likely, and utilities may need to extend the lifespan of existing equipment. Hitachi Energy, acquired from ABB Power Grids in 2020, is a significant growth driver for its parent company, aiming to grow revenues from $13 billion to $30 billion by 2030. The global transformer market, valued at $48 billion, is expected to reach $67 billion by 2030, as renewables demand more grid infrastructure due to their dispersed and distant nature relative to traditional plants. Crux is: Hitachi Energy warns that soaring demand for transformers is causing delays, as the industry struggles to produce enough to support growing renewable energy projects and data centers. New transformers now take up to 3-4 years to deliver, which could slow down crucial upgrades to the power grid.

10 out of 14 years DIIs have dominated the Indian markets. Important to note that DIIs are getting stronger (Atmanirbhar), so while FIIs keep selling we may see some short term corrections, good long term investors will use such opportunities to buy quality growth stories.

https://youtu.be/dRurNJZxCF0?si=DMfI-3MW3lR4Ifnc Health Insurance Woes in India: 43% of Claims Rejected or Partially Approved | Vantage with Palki Sharma A recent survey by Local Circles reveals that many health insurance claims in India have been rejected or only partially approved over the last three years. With inputs from 39,000 people across 302 districts, the survey found that 43% of policyholders faced significant challenges with claim processing. Common issues include claims being rejected due to pre-existing disease classifications, partial approvals, lack of full disclosure about policy exclusions, and complex contract language. As more Indians rely on health insurance, these findings highlight the need for greater transparency and simpler terms. Palki Sharma tells you more.
