{ٱقۡرَأۡ بِٱسۡمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَ}
In the Name of Allâh, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
1. *Read! In the Name of your Lord Who has created (all that exists).*
[Al-‘Alaq:1]
*Tafsir as Saadi*
This soorah was the first soorah of the Qur'an to be revealed to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). It was revealed to him at the beginning of his prophethood, when he did not know anything about the Book or about faith.
Jibreel(عليه السلام) came to him with the message and commanded him to recite, but he refused, saying,
<<I am not a reciter.» (Bukhari)
But Jibreel kept urging him until he recited.
Then Allah revealed to him the words: {Recite [commencing] with the name of your Lord Who created} all of creation. | 1 |
| 5 | {This is) a Book (the Qur’ân) which We have sent down to you, full of blessings, that they may ponder over its Verses, and that men of understanding may remember.}
(Surah Ṣād 38:29)
This indicates the encouragement to reflect deeply upon the Qur’an (tadabbur), and that it is among the best of deeds. A recitation accompanied by reflection and contemplation is better than a fast recitation in which this purpose is not achieved.

*Sincerity: The Key to Accepted Deeds*
Sincerity (Ikhlāṣ) is one of the greatest foundations of Islam and a condition for the acceptance of our deeds. A deed may appear great in the eyes of people, but if it is not done sincerely for Allah, it has no value with Him.
Allah ﷻ says:
“ *And they were not commanded except to worship Allah, being sincere to Him in religion.”*
(Qur’an 98:5)
The Prophet ﷺ said:
*“Actions are judged only by intentions.”*
(Bukhari and Muslim)
Therefore, before we pray, give charity, teach, help others, or perform any good deed, we should ask ourselves: “ *Am I doing this for Allah, or for the praise of people?”*
Let us renew our intentions regularly and ask Allah to purify our hearts and accept our deeds.
*O Allah, make all our deeds sincerely for Your sake, and do not allow anyone else to have a share in them. Āmīn* .

| 17 | *사람은 수십 가지의 변명을 만들어낼 수 있지만, 마음속 깊은 곳에서는 자신이 어디에서 부족했는지를 알고 있습니다.*
{실로 인간은 확실한 증거가 자기 자신을 덮칠 것이라.그가 자기 변명을 늘어놓더라도 그러할 것이라.}
[알-끼야마:14-15]
*자신에게 솔직해지는 것이 회개의 시작입니다. 반면, 길고 많은 변명은 사람이 진실을 마주하지 못하도록 가리는 장막이 될 수 있습니다.*
*A person may weave dozens of excuses, but deep inside, he knows where he has fallen short:*
{Nay! Man will be a witness against himself [as his body parts (skin, hands, legs, etc.) will speak about his deeds],
Though he may put forth his excuses (to cover his evil deeds).}
[Al-Qiyāmah:14-1]
*Being honest with oneself is the beginning of repentance, while lengthy justifications can become a veil that prevents one from facing the truth.*

| 18 | “누구든지 영광과 존귀를 원하는 사람이라면, 모든 영광과 존귀는 오직 알라께 속합니다.”
(꾸란 35:10)
*존귀함(명예)을 얻는 길은 오직 알라께 순종함으로써만 가능합니다. 알라께 대한 순종이 아닌 다른 것을 통해 존귀함을 찾는 사람은 결국 더욱더 굴욕과 비천함을 얻게 될 뿐입니다.*
{Whosoever desires honour, (power and glory), then to Allâh belong all honour, power and glory [and one can get honour, power and glory only by obeying and worshipping Allâh (Alone)].}
(Surah Fatir 35:10)
*Seeking honor can only be achieved through obedience to Allah. Whoever seeks honor through anything other than obedience to Him will only increase in humiliation and disgrace.* | 41 |
| 19 | *Question and Answer;*
**Q* ; In the supermarkets here, they sell fish, halal brand chicken as well as pork. When we buy fish and ask them to cut, they perhaps use the same knife to cut everything.
Kindly advise if it's Ok to buy fish and get it cut here.
*Answer;*
The basic principle is that utensils are considered pure unless there is known evidence of impurity.
If a pan, knife, or other utensil has previously been used to cook or cut pork, it may be used for halal food after it has been properly washed and any remaining traces of pork have been removed.
*Shaykh ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz ibn Bāz رحمه الله said* regarding utensils in which there may be traces of pork or alcohol:
“If it is feared that there is wine or traces of pork in these utensils, they should be washed when needed, and then one may eat from them.”
He referenced the hadith of Abū Thaʿlabah رضي الله عنه in which the Prophet ﷺ said regarding the utensils of the People of the Book: “If you find no others, wash them and eat from them.”
Shaykh Ibn Bāz — Ruling on Eating from Doubtful Utensils
*Shaykh Muḥammad ibn Ṣāliḥ al-ʿUthaymīn رحمه الله emphasized* that the original ruling concerning utensils is purity, and that merely knowing that non-Muslims use them for pork does not by itself establish impurity. He also explained that if actual impurity is known to be present, it must be washed away.
Therefore:
* If the pan or utensil was previously used for pork but has been properly cleaned: halal food may be cooked in it.
* If traces of pork or pork fat remain: it should not be used for halal food until those traces are removed.
* If it is only suspected that the utensil was used for pork, without certainty or evidence: the original ruling of purity remains, and one is not required to investigate.
* If the same frying oil is used to fry pork and halal food: the halal food should not be eaten if pork or its fat has contaminated the oil. The issue here is the oil itself, not merely the frying pan.
It is also important to note that Ibn ʿUthaymīn رحمه الله did not regard the mere use of a utensil by non-Muslims as sufficient proof that it is impure. He stated that the explanation that the Prophet ﷺ prohibited their utensils because they cooked pork in them is not established by evidence; rather, the original principle is purity unless impurity is established.
*Conclusion:* Eating halal meat cooked in a pan that was previously used for pork is permissible provided that the pan has been cleaned and no trace of pork remains. If there is only doubt about previous use, the food remains permissible according to the principle of original purity. | 36 |
