A driver crashed into construction scaffolding in Hermosa Beach, #California bringing the entire structure crashing down. Workers were on break at the time, and remarkably no injuries were reported.
A witness tells me the driver is being questioned on suspicion of DUI.

๐บ๐ธ #Portland. The driver of a truck entering the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement building Wednesday afternoon struck and dragged a protester standing in front of the driveway. The protester, who has not been identified, was taken to the hospital and declined to file a police report.
It's not clear whether the truck belonged to an employee of the ICE facility or a federal agency. An ICE spokesperson said the truck did not belong to that agency and directed questions to the Federal Protective Service.
Looks like the protester grabbed the bed of the truck after using his sign to bang on the top of the truck.

SriLankan Airlines flight UL606 from Colombo to Sydney gets struck by lightning on departure from Colombo, causing damage to its left engine.
The Airbus A330-243 returned to the departure airport following the incident. In a statement, the airline confirmed that the aircraft landed safely with 207 passengers and 16 crew members on board an hour later.
Thought lightening strikes were safe for aircraft? But why were they taking off in a lightening storm in the first place?

A San Francisco police officer found himself trapped under a car after a confrontation with a suspected thief spilled into the street. As the two officers tried to detain the suspect, a car hit all three of them, running over the suspect and one officer and trapping the second officer. The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators, according to police.
Both officers sustained injuries to their legs but are expected to be ok. The suspect died from his injuries.

With a police helicopter hovering overhead and officers swarming the shoreline, bystanders started chanting for the swimmer. But when he began to tire, cops jumped in after him, and a struggle broke out IN the water. He was arrested and charged with petit larceny. He was taken to the hospital in stable condition.

A Yemeni climber known as โAl-QaโQaโโ died after slipping from the cliffs around Damtโs volcanic hot springs in Al-Dhaleโ Governorate.
He had become known for scaling the steep rock faces above the water and writing names in white chalk across the cliffs, with more than 250,000 followers watching his climbs on Facebook.
His body has not yet been recovered from the deep hot waters below.

The sheriffโs office basically put out a wanted notice: a short, stubborn, very mischievous white goat with brown markings down one side of his face.
