Fabio Petito, contrary to Huntington's idea of a clash of civilizations, develops the concept of a "dialogue of civilizations. He initiates the formation of a "multipolar system of inter-civilizational dialogue" along the lines of "civilizational rifts". He proposes to follow the path of "intercultural and dialogically constitutive process of regional integration" aimed at the formation of a global civilizational paradigm and "telos of the world".
