She got laid off as a Manual QA. 7 interviews later, she had 2 job offers. One of them in Automation. And this story is exactly why I keep saying that losing your job doesn’t necessarily mean you’re moving backwards. • She started as an Office Admin in Pakistan. • Moved to the US → took a manual testing bootcamp → got her first Manual QA job. • And then… she got laid off. At that point she could’ve polished the same resume and started applying to another 500 Manual QA positions. Instead, she started over. • She learned Playwright with JavaScript/TypeScript. • Joined a real internship from day one. • Started preparing for actual interviews. • Built an AI agent for her husband’s business. Everything she learned went directly into her resume and, more importantly, into things she could actually talk about during interviews. Then something interesting happened. 6–7 interviews → 2 offers 🔥 → Freddie Mac: Mid Automation QA — $45/hour → Deloitte: Mid QA — $90K, remote And while she was already choosing between offers, she had another interview lined up for a Senior role around $130K. But my favorite part wasn’t even the offers. She told us that almost every technical question was about the things she had actually practiced: POM. APIs. Automation. Real project situations. Nobody cared about memorized definitions like “What are the types of testing?” They wanted to understand: • What have you actually done? • How did you build it? • Why did you make that decision? At one point, the QA Lead even complimented her experience. Think about that 🤔 A few months earlier she was a laid-off Manual QA wondering what comes next. Now she’s interviewing for Automation and Senior positions. Sometimes getting laid off is not the end of your career. It’s the market forcing you to upgrade. And right now, the gap between Manual QA and Automation/Agentic QA is becoming one of the biggest opportunities I’ve seen in years. You just need to decide which side of that gap you want to be on 😎 Wanna learn QA Automation just like she did? What do the people in this photo have in common? Besides being absolute sweethearts 😄 None of them waited for the "perfect moment" to start learning Automation QA. Because the perfect moment never comes. There's always a reason to wait a little longer: prepare a bit more, let the market get better, find more free time. On September 19, these people just showed up to the first webinar and started. And this is only a small part of the group. Thank you for jumping in so actively from day one and for trusting Codemify. I see it, and it means a lot. Here's how it works. Every week you get short video lessons you can watch at your own pace, plus three live webinars with the mentors and me, where we go through your questions and real tasks. After the theory comes hands-on practice in real startups, because without it a junior resume looks exactly like a hundred others. Then interview prep, help with your resume and applications, and for those who really put in the work, an offer. I'm not promising a job to everyone who just paid for the course. But if you show up and do the work, we'll help you get all the way there, and the mentors stay in touch the whole time instead of disappearing after day one. Over the years, we've helped hundreds of students land jobs in QA. Maybe you're next? The group has already started, but there are still 2 spots left in Automation. Drop a "+" and my team will reach out to you.

How to get a job offer without applying for it in 2026 🤷 Long story short. 1. This girl went through some bootcamp and came to us cause she didnt feel confident. 2. She went through QA AI Automation course, learned playwright, Github Actions for CICD, AI Asisted Automation. But still never applied cause she was busy with her Real Estate job 🤷‍♂️ 3. Then a year later she heared that we started WeApply program where she could work, pay us 300$ and we would apply instead of her A few months after, she went through 4 rounds of interview anddddd… booom! 125k job offer on the table 👨‍🚒🔥👩‍🚒 I don’t know what’s happening with this world, but I trully know that it’s just a matter of time and persitence how soon you will get your job offer! Don’t give me, and if you want to learn how to use Agentic AI in QA, join our 1 hour workshop this Wednesday: https://codemify.com/qa-agentic-automation-webinar

I asked 50 QA engineers what 'temperature' means in an LLM. 3 got it right. This is the problem. 3 got it right. The other 47 either guessed, said they didn't know, or explained something completely wrong with full confidence. Temperature is one of the first things you learn when you start working with these models. It controls how random the output is. 0 gives you the most predictable answer, 1 gets creative. Some of the newest models exclude an option to specify it. Or use Reasoning: { effort: "low" | "medium" | "high" }. Twenty seconds of reading. If you're testing an AI feature and you don't know what temperature it runs on, you don't know what you're testing. You're guessing. And this is one parameter. There's tokens, context window, why the same prompt returns different answers Tuesday vs Friday, why your eval passes locally and fails in prod. Twenty things like this. Most QAs I talk to know zero of them. Hiring managers figured this out fast. They don't give written tests anymore. They drop one casual question 10 minutes in. "What temperature would you set for this?" If you stall, the interview is already over, you just don't know it yet. Artur and I built a 6-week training with an internship In AI driven startup from the day one. Week 1 is the foundation nobody teaches. If you want the curriculum, comment “AI Test Mastery” below. The first cohort starts July 11th. 8 Spots left 🤓

When you are a Junior/Mid QA, the job search process looks like a mystery. And you don’t know whether AI will eat your job tomorrow. But 2026 has proven that it’s simply like dating, a matching process that requires experience and certain skills. Mohammad was a mechanic by day, Uber driver by night. Today he has a $125K offer, only 3 months after graduation. He'd come to the US from Africa. Young wife, a newborn at home. Two jobs to keep them all fed - mechanic by day, Uber driver by night. 24/7, no days off. The only window for studying his whole day had was between shifts. So he'd pull over on the side of the road, open his phone, and join the class. He did his homework in the middle of the night - once the baby was finally asleep and the apartment went quiet. I've taught a lot of motivated people. This guy broke my sense of how much a person can endure for their family. Then he called me. Almost in tears. $125,000. An offer. And you know what he said? «Sergii, this job was created for me» Because the company was looking for a QA engineer who spoke Portuguese. And in his old life, he'd been a Portuguese teacher. The thing he thought was useless baggage from a past life was the exact reason they chose him. Here's what I take from this, and repeat to everyone: Your past isn't dead weight. It's your edge. Teacher, mechanic, soldier, athlete that "irrelevant" experience is often the very thing that sets you apart from a thousand identical resumes. He was just one skill short of making it all click into place. If you're reading this from a car between two shifts right now, I see you. It can be done. I've watched it get done from a far worse starting line.
