Here’s how trigger works, whenever you experience something that reminds of you a trauma/ a couple of them/ your whole body or mind goes through the pain just like the first time you endured the trauma. •Physical Touch (abuse, sexual assault or a traumatic accident) •Words (verbal abuse, discouragements, or taking you back to a certain traumatic incident) •Scenes from movies, videos or real life experiences. Be patient with yourself if anything is triggering for your mind or body, it takes a gradual process to grow out of the trauma body. Do not rush yourself so you could heal to make the people around you happy or be less frustrated with you😊

Every experience without you is a different type of heartbreak... “Hey, I got out of bed today-“ “Hey, I ate today-“ I begin typing only to take it all back. It’s hard to get used to you know? Not sharing my happiest moments with you. I dial the numbers I know by heart so to hear your voice, listen to you go crazy about a song you just discovered, maybe tease you a little and hear your laugh only to end it quick. How long will it take to believe you’re no longer mine? ✍🏾@DebbieTesfaye 📸 @DebbiesLens #LiteratureSaturdays @OurSideOfTheStory

“My mother and father could not always be there to protect me. No matter the depth of my mother’s love or how fierce her embrace, she could not protect me from the evil in the world, nor, it seemed, could all her novenas. Even then I began to question my faith and my mother’s belief in God’s will. What kind of God would allow this to happen to a child?”

“I remember thinking this was what I deserved, the devil boy with the red eyes. This was what I had coming to me for being different. It was only a matter of time before, as my father had predicted, I would encounter the cruelty the world held for me. David Bateman was just the person who would deliver the first blow.”

“There comes a time in every man’s life, when he stops looking forward and starts looking back.”

“We think we have control over our lives, especially when we’re young and seemingly invulnerable. We’re told we can do anything we set our minds to, that the world is our oyster, that all we have to do is shuck the hard shell and pluck the rich, nourishing meat inside. I realize now, however, that the shell is a lot harder than I appreciated, and that I never could have controlled or even predicted the things that would happen in my life. We believe we choose the paths we take when we come to those forks in our lives—the friends we make, the careers we undertake, the spouses we marry. But we don’t.”

Some excerpts I loved so far👇🏾

The extraordinary life of Sam Hell by Robert Dugoni. Here’s a book I’m on the verge of finishing. I have a lot to say about it but that will have to wait until I’m done :) #BookRecommendationThursdays @OurSideOfTheStory

Yes I said this over two months ago and I’m well aware I apologize a lot but we’ll have our weekly episodes starting from next week. This new episode will focus on how we handle the relationships we have with people (either platonic or romantic), how much do we invest in the relationships, how much of their world are we willing to have in ours and so much more questions will try to be answered. Stay tuned and hit me with any ideas, issues or questions you’d like to be regarded in this episode. I hope you had a good day😊

•A song for every moon by Bruno Major. •Divinely uninspired to a hellish extent by Lewis Capaldi. •Because the Internet by Childish Gambino. •30 by Adele. These are my album recommendations for this week, enjoy and have a good night💜
