🙏Devotion Time : 06-June-2024       🛐Father of Lights 💫 Ch. 71—David's Sin and Repentance-2 (of 10) KJV Job 33:28 He will deliver his soul from going into the pit, and his life shall see the light. Before the conclusion of the war with the Ammonites, David, leaving the conduct of the army to Joab, returned to Jerusalem. The Syrians had already submitted to Israel, and the complete overthrow of the Ammonites appeared certain. David was surrounded by the fruits of victory and the honors of his wise and able rule. It was now, while he was at ease and unguarded, that the tempter seized the opportunity to occupy his mind. The fact that God had taken David into so close connection with Himself and had manifested so great favor toward him, should have been to him the strongest of incentives to preserve his character unblemished. But when in ease and self-security he let go his hold upon God, David yielded to Satan and brought upon his soul the stain of guilt. He, the Heaven-appointed leader of the nation, chosen by God to execute His law, himself trampled upon its precepts. He who should have been a terror to evildoers, by his own act strengthened their hands. Amid the perils of his earlier life David in conscious integrity could trust his case with God. The Lord's hand had guided him safely past the unnumbered snares that had been laid for his feet. But now, guilty and unrepentant, he did not ask help and guidance from Heaven, but sought to extricate himself from the dangers in which sin had involved him. Bathsheba, whose fatal beauty had proved a snare to the king, was the wife of Uriah the Hittite, one of David's bravest and most faithful officers. None could foresee what would be the result should the crime become known. The law of God pronounced the adulterer guilty of death, and the proud-spirited soldier, so shamefully wronged, might avenge himself by taking the life of the king or by exciting the nation to revolt. Every effort which David made to conceal his guilt proved unavailing. He had betrayed himself into the power of Satan; danger surrounded him, dishonor more bitter than death was before him. There appeared but one way of escape, and in his desperation he was hurried on to add murder to adultery. He who had compassed the destruction of Saul was seeking to lead David also to ruin. Though the temptations were different, they were alike in leading to transgression of God's law. David reasoned that if Uriah were slain by the hand of enemies in battle, the guilt of his death could not be traced home to the king, Bathsheba would be free to become David's wife, suspicion could be averted, and the royal honor would be maintained. 🙏 தியான நேரம் : 06-ஜூன்-2024          🛐Father of Lights💫 71- தாவீதின் பாவமும் மனமாற்றமும்-2(10-ல்) என் ஆத்துமா படுகுழியில் இறங்காதபடி, அவர் அதை இரட்சிப்பார். ஆகையால் என் பிராணன் வெளிச்சத்தைக் காணும் என்று சொல்லுவான். யோபு 33:28 அம்மோனியரோடு நடந்த யுத்தம் முடிவதற்கு முன்பாக யுத்த நடவடிக்கைகளை யோவாபிடம் விட்டுவிட்டு தாவீது எருசலேமிற்குத் திரும்பினான். சீரியர் ஏற்கனவே இஸ்ரவேலுக்கு அடங்கியிருந்தனர். கூடவே அம்மோனியரை முழுமையாக அழிப்பது நிச்சயமாகத் தோன்றியது. தாவீது வெற்றியின் கனிகளாலும், ஞானமும் திறமையுமான ஆட்சியின் கனங்களாலும் சூழப்பட்டிருந்தான். அவன் தொல்லையின்றியும் காவலின்றியும் இருந்த இப்போது தான் அவன் மனதை ஆக்கிரமிக்கும் சந்தர்ப்பத்தை சோதனைக்காரன் எடுத்தான். தேவன் தாவீதை தம்மோடு மிக நெருங்கிய இணைப்பிற்குள் கொண்டு வந்து அவனுக்கு மிகப் பெரிய தயவை வெளிக்காட்டியிருக்கிறார் என்கிற உண்மை தன்னுடைய குணத்தைக் கறைபடாது பாதுகாக்கும் பலமான தூண்டுவிசையாக அவனுக்கு இருந்திருக்கவேண்டும். ஆனால் இலகுவாகவும் சுயபாதுகாப்பிலும் இருந்தபோது தேவன் மேலிருந்ததன் பிடியை விட்டு சாத்தானுக்கு ஒப்புக்கொடுத்து தன் ஆத்துமாவின் மேல் குற்ற உணர்வின் கறையை தாவீது கொண்டு வந்தான். பரலோகம் நியமித்த தேசத்தின் அதிபதியான அவன், தேவனுடைய பிரமாணத்தைச் செயல்படுத்தும் படி அவரால் தெரிந்து கொள்ளப்பட்ட அவன்தானே, அதன் நியமங்களை மிதித்தான். தீமை செய்கிறவர்களுக்கு பயங்கரமாக இருக்கவேண்டிய அவன், தன்னுடைய சொந்த செய்கையினால் அவர்களுடைய கரங்களைப் பலப்படுத்தினான். முற்கால வாழ்க்கையில், ஆபத்துகளுக்கு மத்தியில் மனதார உண்மையோடு தன் பிரச்சனையை தேவனிடம் தாவீதால் ஒப்படைக்க முடிந்திருந்தது. கடந்த காலத்தில் ஆண்டவருடைய கரம் அவன் பாதங்களுக்கு வைக்கப்பட்டிருந்த எண்ணிக்கைக் கடங்காத கண்ணிகளிலிருந்து பாதுகாப்பாக அவனை நடத்தியிருந்தது. ஆனால் இப்போது மனந்திரும்பாத குற்ற உணர்வோடு இருந்த அவன், பரலோகத்திலிருந்து உதவியையும் நடத்துதலையும் கேட்காது, பாவம் உட்படுத்தியிருந்த ஆபத்துகளிலிருந்து தன்னை விடுவிக்கத் தேடினான். இராஜாவைகண்ணிக்குட்படுத்தும்படியான ஆபத்தான அழகோடிருந்த பத்சேபாள், தாவீதின் மிக தைரியமும் மிகவும் உண்மையுமான அதிபதிகளில் ஒருவனாகியகித்தியனாகிய உரியாவின் மனைவியாயிருந்தாள். குற்றம் தெரியவரும்போது அதன் விளைவு என்னவாயிருக்கும் என்பதை எவராலும் முன்ன தாக காணமுடியாது. விபச்சாரம் செய்தவன் மரணத்திற்கேதுவான குற்றவாளியாயிருக்கிறான் என்று தேவனுடைய பிரமாணம் அறிவித்தது. அகந்தையான ஆவி கொண்ட வீரன் மிகவும் அவமானமாக தவறிழைக்கப்பட்டதால் இராஜாவின் உயிரை எடுத்தோ அல்லது தேசத்தில் கலகத்தைத் தூண்டியோ பழிவாங்கக்கூடும். தன் குற்றத்தை மறைக்க தாவீது செய்த ஒவ்வொரு முயற்சியும் வீணாயிருந்தது. அவன் தன்னை சாத்தானின் வல்லமைக்குள் கொடுத்திருந்தான். ஆபத்து அவனைச் சூழ்ந்திருந்தது. மரணத்தைக் காட்டிலும் கசப்பான அவமரியாதை அவன் முன் இருந்தது. தப்பிப்பதற்கு ஒரு வழி மாத்திரமே தோன்றியது. தன்னுடைய விரக்தியில் தன் விபச்சாரத்தோடு கொலையையும் சேர்க்க விரைந்தான். சவுலின் அழிவை நடத்தியவன் தாவீதையும் அழிவிற்கு நடத்த தேடிக்கொண்டிருந்தான். சோதனைகள் வேறுபட்டிருப்பினும் இருவரும் ஒரேவிதமாக தேவனுடைய பிரமாணத்தை மீற நடத்தப்பட்டிருந்தனர். உரியா யுத்தத்தில் சத்துருக்களின் கையினால் கொலை செய்யப்படுவானானால் அவனுடைய மரணத்திற்கு அரசன்தான் காரணம் என்பதை ஆராய்ந்து அறிய முடியாது. பத்சேபாளும் தாவீதின் மனைவியாவதற்கு சுதந்தரம் பெறுவாள்; சந்தேகம் தவிர்க்கப்படும், அரச மரியாதையும் பராமரிக்கப்படும். 🙏Devotion Time : 05-June-2024       🛐Father of Lights 💫 Ch. 71—David's Sin and Repentance-1 (of 10) KJV Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. The Bible has little to say in praise of men. Little space is given to recounting the virtues of even the best men who have ever lived. This silence is not without purpose; it is not without a lesson. All the good qualities that men possess are the gift of God; their good deeds are performed by the grace of God through Christ. Since they owe all to God the glory of whatever they are or do belongs to Him alone; they are but instruments in His hands. More than this—as all the lessons of Bible history teach—it is a perilous thing to praise or exalt men; for if one comes to lose sight of his entire dependence on God, and to trust to his own strength, he is sure to fall. Man is contending with foes who are stronger than he. “We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against wicked spirits in high places.” Ephesians 6:12, margin. It is impossible for us in our own strength to maintain the conflict; and whatever diverts the mind from God, whatever leads to self-exaltation or to self-dependence, is surely preparing the way for our overthrow. The tenor of the Bible is to inculcate distrust of human power and to encourage trust in divine power. It was the spirit of self-confidence and self-exaltation that prepared the way for David's fall. Flattery and the subtle allurements of power and luxury were not without effect upon him. Intercourse with surrounding nations also exerted an influence for evil. According to the customs prevailing among Eastern rulers, crimes not to be tolerated in subjects were uncondemned in the king; the monarch was not under obligation to exercise the same self-restraint as the subject. All this tended to lessen David's sense of the exceeding sinfulness of sin. And instead of relying in humility upon the power of Jehovah, he began to trust to his own wisdom and might. As soon as Satan can separate the soul from God, the only Source of strength, he will seek to arouse the unholy desires of man's carnal nature. The work of the enemy is not abrupt; it is not, at the outset, sudden and startling; it is a secret undermining of the strongholds of principle. It begins in apparently small things—the neglect to be true to God and to rely upon Him wholly, the disposition to follow the customs and practices of the world. 🙏 தியான நேரம் : 05-ஜூன்-2024          🛐Father of Lights💫 71- தாவீதின் பாவமும் மனமாற்றமும்-1(10-ல்) ஏனெனில், மாம்சத்தோடும் இரத்தத்தோடுமல்ல, துரைத்தனங்களோடும், அதிகாரங்களோடும், இப்பிரபஞ்சத்தின் அந்தகார லோகாதிபதிகளோடும், வானமண்டலங்களிலுள்ள பொல்லாத ஆவிகளின் சேனைகளோடும் நமக்குப் போராட்டம் உண்டு. எபேசியர் 6:12 மனிதனுக்கு புகழ்ச்சியாக வேதாகமத்தில் அதிகம் இல்லை. இதுவரையும் வாழ்ந்திருந்தவர்களில் சிறந்தவர்களின் நற்குணங்களைத் திரும்பிப்பார்ப்பதற்கு மிக குறைவான கவனமே கொடுக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறது. இந்த மௌனம் நோக்கமற்றதல்ல; ஒரு பாடம் இல்லாமலும் இல்லை. மனிதன் பெற்றிருக்கும் அனைத்து நல்ல தன்மைகளும் தேவனுடைய ஈவு . அவர்களுடைய நல்ல கிரியைகள் கிறிஸ்துவின் வழியாக தேவனுடைய கிருபையினால் நடப்பிக்கப்படுகிறது. அனைத்தையும் தேவனிடமிருந்து பெற்றிருப்பதால் அவர்கள் எப்படியிருந்தாலும் அல்லது என்ன செய்தாலும் அதன் மகிமையனைத்தும் அவருக்கு மாத்திரமே சொந்தமானது. அவர்கள் அவருடைய கரங்களில் கருவிகளே . இதற்கு மேலாக வேதாகம சரித்திரம் போதிக்கிற அனைத்துப் பாடங்களையும் போல மனிதனைப் புகழுவதோ அல்லது உயர்த்துவதோ ஒரு ஆபத்தான காரியம். ஏனெனில் தேவனை முற்றிலும் சார்ந்திருப்பதை ஒருவன் மறந்து தன்னுடைய சொந்த பெலத்தை நம்புவானெனில், அவன் விழுவது நிச்சயம். அவன் தன்னைக் காட்டிலும் பலமான சத்துருக்களோடு போராடிக் கொண்டிருக்கிறான். மாம்சத்தோடும் இரத்தத்தோடுமல்ல, துரைத்தனங்களோடும், அதிகாரங்களோடும், இப்பிரபஞ்சத்தின் அந்தகார லோகாதிபதிகளோடும், வான மண்டலங்களிலுள்ள பொல்லாத ஆவிகளின் சேனைகளோடும் நமக்குப் போராட்டம் உண்டு. எபே. 6:12. நம்முடைய பெலத்தால் போராட்டத்தைத் தொடர முடியாது. தேவனிடமிருந்து மனதை திசைதிருப்புகிற எதுவானாலும், சுயத்தை உயர்த்தவோ அல்லது சுயத்தைச் சார்ந் திருக்கவோ நடத்துகிற எதுவானாலும், நம்மை கவிழ்ப்பதற்கேது வான பாதையையே நிச்சயமாக ஆயத்தம் செய்கிறது. வேதாகமத்தின் தொனி, மனித வல்லமையை நம்பாதிருக்க கற்பிப்பதும் தெய்வீகவல்லமையை நம்ப உற்சாகப்படுத்துவதுமே . சுயநம்பிக்கையும் சுயத்தை உயர்த்துவதுமான ஆவியே தாவீதின் விழுகைக்கு அவனை ஆயத்தப்படுத்தினது. தற்புகழ்ச்சியும், வல்லமையையும் ஆடம்பரத்தையுங் குறித்த தந்திரமான கவர்ச்சிகளும் அவன் மேல் பலன் செலுத்தாமல் இல்லை. சுற்றிலுமிருந்த தேசங்களோடு கொண்ட உறவு தீமைக் கேதுவான ஒரு செல்வாக்கை செயல்படுத்தியது. கிழக்கத்திய அதிபதிகள் நடுவேயிருந்த வழக்கத்தின்படி குடிமக்களிடம் சகித் துக்கொள்ளக் கூடாத குற்றங்கள் அரசனிடம் கண்டிக்கப்பட வில்லை. குடிமக்களைப்போலவே சுய கட்டுப்பாட்டோடிருக்க வேண்டும் என்ற நிபந்தனையில் அரசன் இல்லை இவை அனைத்தும் பாவத்தின் அளவுகடந்த பாவத்தன்மையைக் குறித்த தாவீதின் உணர்வை குறைக்கும் இயல்புடையதாயிருந்தன. யெகோவாவின் வல்லமையின் மேல் தாழ்மையோடு சார்ந்திருப்பதற்குப் பதிலாக தன்னுடைய சொந்த ஞானத்தையும் வல்லமையையும் அவன் நம்பத் துவங்கினான். சாத்தான், பலத்தின் ஒரே ஆதாரமான தேவ னிடமிருந்து ஆத்துமாவை பிரித்தவுடனேயே மனிதனுடைய மாமிச இயல்பின் பரிசுத்தமில்லாத ஆசைகளை தூண்டிவிட எத்தனிப்பான். சத்துருவின் வேலை சடிதியானதல்ல. அது துவக்கத்தில் சடிதியானதும் திகைக்கவைக்கிறது மல்ல, கொள்கையின் அரண்களை அது இரகசியமாக வலிமையற்றதாக்குகிறது. அது சிறிய காரியங்களில் தான் தேவனுக்கு உண்மையாயிருப்பதையும் அவரை முழு மையாக சார்ந்திருப்பதையும் நெகிழ்ந்து, உலகத்தின் வழக்கங்களையும் பழக்கங்களையும் பின்பற்றும் எண்ணங்களில் தான் துவங்குகிறது. 🙏Devotion Time : 04-June-2024       🛐Father of Lights 💫 *(Ch. 70-The Reign of David**-11 (of 11) KJV Psalms 44:7 But thou hast saved us from our enemies, and hast put them to shame that hated us. The dangers which had threatened the nation with utter destruction proved, through the providence of God, to be the very means by which it rose to unprecedented greatness. In commemorating his remarkable deliverances, David sings: “The Lord liveth; and blessed be my rock; and exalted be the God of my salvation: Even the God that executeth vengeance for me, and subdueth peoples under me. He rescueth me from mine enemies: Yea, Thou liftest me up above them that rise up against me: Thou deliverest me from the violent man. Therefore I will give thanks unto Thee, O Lord, among the nations, And will sing praises unto Thy name. Great deliverance giveth He to His king; And sheweth loving-kindness to His anointed, To David and to his seed, forevermore.” Psalm 18:46-50, R.V. And throughout the songs of David the thought was impressed on his people that Jehovah was their strength and deliverer: “There is no king saved by the multitude of a host: A mighty man is not delivered by much strength. A horse is a vain thing for safety: Neither shall he deliver any by his great strength.” Psalm 33:16, 17. “Thou art my King, O God: Command deliverances for Jacob. Through Thee will we push down our enemies: Through Thy name will we tread them under that rise up against us. For I will not trust in my bow, Neither shall my sword save me. But Thou hast saved us from our enemies, And hast put them to shame that hated us.” Psalm 44:4-7. “Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: But we will remember the name of Jehovah our God.” Psalm 20:7. The kingdom of Israel had now reached in extent the fulfillment of the promise given to Abraham, and afterward repeated to Moses: “Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates.” Genesis 15:18. Israel had become a mighty nation, respected and feared by surrounding peoples. In his own realm David's power had become very great. He commanded, as few sovereigns in any age have been able to command, the affections and allegiance of his people. He had honored God, and God was now honoring him. But in the midst of prosperity lurked danger. In the time of his greatest outward triumph David was in the greatest peril, and met his most humiliating defeat. 🙏 தியான நேரம் : 04-ஜூன்-2024          🛐Father of Lights💫 70- தாவீதின் ஆட்சி-11 (11-ல்) நீரே எங்கள் சத்துருக்களினின்று எங்களை இரட்சித்து, எங்களைப் பகைக்கிறவர்களை வெட்கப்படுத்துகிறீர். சங்கீதம் 44:7 முழுமையான அழிவைக் குறித்து தேசத்தை பயமுறுத்தின் ஆபத்துக்கள் தாமும் தேவனுடைய ஏற்பாட்டினால் இதற்கு முன் இருந்த மகிமையைக் காட்டிலும் மேன்மைக்கு உயர்த்தும் வழிகளாயின. தன்னுடைய குறிப்பிடத்தகுந்த விடுதலையை கொண்டாடும் படி தாவீது இவ்விதம் பாடினான். கர்த்தர் ஜீவனுள்ளவர்; என் கன்மலையானவர் துதிக்கப்படுவாராக. என் இரட்சிப்பின் தேவன் உயர்ந்திருப்பாராக. அவர் எனக்காகப் பழிக்குப் பழிவாங்கி, ஜனங்களை எனக்குக் கீழ்ப்படுத்துகிற தேவனானவர். அவரே என் சத்துருக்களுக்கு என்னை விலக்கி விடுவிக்கிறவர்; எனக்கு விரோதமாய் எழும்புகிறவர்கள் மேல் என்னை நீர் உயர்த்தி, கொடுமையான மனுஷனுக்கு என்னைத் தப்புவிக்கிறீர். இதினிமித்தம் கர்த்தாவே, ஜாதிகளுக்குள்ளே உம்மைத் துதித்து, உம்முடைய நாமத்திற்குச் சங்கீதம் பாடுவேன். தாம் ஏற்படுத்தின ராஜாவுக்கு மகத்தான இரட்சிப்பை அளித்து, தாம் அபிஷேகம் பண்ணின் தாவீதுக்கும் அவன் சந்ததிக்கும் சதாகாலமும் கிருபை செய்கிறார் - சங். 18:46-50. தாவீதின் பாடல்கள் முழுவதிலும் யெகோவாவே அவர்களுடைய பலனும் விடுவிக்கிறவருமாயிருக்கிறார் என்னும் நினைவு மக்களில் பதிக்கப்பட்டது. எந்த ராஜாவும் தன் சேனையின் மிகுதியால் இரட்சிக்கப் படான்; சவுரியவானும் தன் பலத்தின் மிகுதியால் தப்பான். இரட்சிக்கிறதற்குக் குதிரை விருதா; அது தன் மிகுந்த வீரியத்தால் தப்புவியாது - சங்.33:16,17. தேவனே, நீர் என் ராஜா; யாக்கோபுக்கு இரட்சிப்பைக் கட்ட ளையிடும். உம்மாலே எங்கள் சத்துருக்களைக் கீழே விழத்தாக்கி,9 எங்களுக்கு விரோதமாய் எழும்புகிறவர்களை உம்முடைய நாமத்தினால் மிதிப்போம். என் வில்லை நான் நம்பேன், என் பட்டயம் என்னை இரட்சிப்பதில்லை. நீரே எங்கள் சத்துருக்களி னின்று எங்களை இரட்சித்து, எங்களைப் பகைக்கிறவர்களை வெட்கப்படுத்துகிறீர் சங், 44:4-7. சிலர் இரதங்களைக் குறித்தும், சிலர் குதிரைகளைக்குறித்தும் மேன்மைபாராட்டுகிறார்கள்; நாங்களோ எங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருடைய நாமத்தைக்குறித்தே மேன்மை பாராட்டுவோம். சங். 20:7. இஸ்ரவேலின் இராஜ்யம் இப்போது ஆபிரகாமிற்குக் கொடுக் கப்பட்டு பின்னர் மோசேயிடம் திரும்ப கொடுக்கப்பட்ட, எகிப்தின் நதிதுவக்கி ஐ பிராத்து நதி என்னும் பெரிய நதி மட்டுமுள்ளதும், இந்தத் தேசத்தை உன் சந்ததிக்குக் கொடுத்தேன் (ஆதி. 15:18) என்ற வாக்குறுதியை நிறைவேற்றும் எல்லையைத் தொட்டிருந்தது. இஸ்ரவேல் வல்லமையான ஜாதியாகி சுற்றிலும் இருந்த மக்களால் மதிக்கப்பட்டும் பயத்திற்குரியதுமாகியிருந்தது. தன்னுடைய சொந்த அரசாட்சியில் தாவீதின் வல்லமை மிகவும் பெரியதாயிற்று. காலங்கள் நெடுகிலும் சில அரசர்களால் மாத்திரமே பெற முடிந்த மக்களுடைய விருப்பத்தையும் நட்பையும் அவன் சம்பாதித்திருந்தான். அவன் தேவனைக் கனம் பண்ணியிருந்தான். அவர் இப் போது அவனை கனம் பண்ணிக்கொண்டிருந்தார். ஆனாலும் செழிப்பின் மத்தியில் ஆபத்து பதுங்கியிருந்தது. தாவீதினுடைய மிகச் சிறந்த வெளிப்படையான வெற்றியின் காலத்தில் தான் மாபெரும் பாவத்தில் அவனை மிகவும் சிறுமைப் படுத்தின் தோல்வியை அவன் சந்தித்தான். 🙏Devotion Time : 03-June-2024       🛐Father of Lights 💫 Ch. 70-The Reign of David-10 (of 11) KJV 2 Samuel 10:12 Be of good courage, and let us play the men for our people, and for the cities of our God: and the LORD do that which seemeth him good. The Ammonites had been permitted to carry out the evil purposes of their hearts without restraint, that their real character might be revealed to David. It was not God's will that Israel should enter into a league with this treacherous heathen people. In ancient times, as now, the office of ambassador was held sacred. By the universal law of nations it ensured protection from personal violence or insult. The ambassador standing as a representative of his sovereign, any indignity offered to him demanded prompt retaliation. The Ammonites, knowing that the insult offered to Israel would surely be avenged, made preparation for war. “When the children of Ammon saw that they had made themselves odious to David, Hanun and the children of Ammon sent a thousand talents of silver to hire them chariots and horsemen out of Mesopotamia, and out of Syria-maachah, and out of Zobah. So they hired thirty and two thousand chariots.... And the children of Ammon gathered themselves together from their cities, and came to battle.” 1 Chronicles 19:6, 7. It was indeed a formidable alliance. The inhabitants of the region lying between the river Euphrates and the Mediterranean Sea had leagued with the Ammonites. The north and east of Canaan was encircled with armed foes, banded together to crush the kingdom of Israel. The Hebrews did not wait for the invasion of their country. Their forces, under Joab, crossed the Jordan and advanced toward the Ammonite capital. As the Hebrew captain led his army to the field he sought to inspire them for the conflict, saying, “Be of good courage, and let us behave ourselves valiantly for our people, and for the cities of our God: and let the Lord do that which is good in His sight.” 1 Chronicles 19:13. The united forces of the allies were overcome in the first engagement. But they were not yet willing to give over the contest, and the next year renewed the war. The king of Syria gathered his forces, threatening Israel with an immense army. David, realizing how much dependent upon the result of this contest, took the field in person, and by the blessing of God inflicted upon the allies a defeat so disastrous that the Syrians, from Lebanon to the Euphrates, not only gave up the war, but became tributary to Israel. Against the Ammonites David pushed the war with vigor, until their strongholds fell and the whole region came under the dominion of Israel. 🙏 தியான நேரம் : 03-ஜூன்-2024          🛐Father of Lights💫 70- தாவீதின் ஆட்சி-10 (11-ல்) தைரியமாயிரு. நம்முடைய ஜனத்திற்காகவும் நம்முடைய தேவனுடைய பட்டணங்களுக்காகவும் சவுரியத்தைக் காட்டுவோம். கர்த்தர் தமது பார்வைக்கு நலமானதைச் செய்வாராக என்றான். 2 சாமுவேல் 10:12 அம்மோனியரின் மெய்யான குணம் தாவீதிற்கு வெளிப்படும் படியாகவே எந்த தடையுமின்றி தங்கள் இருதயங்களின் தீய நோக்கங்களை செயல்படுத்த அவர்கள் அனுமதிக்கப்பட்டனர். இந்தத் துரோகமான புறஜாதி மக்களுடன் இஸ்ரவேலர் ஒரு ஒப்பந்தத்தில் நுழைய வேண்டுமென்பது தேவனுடைய நோக்கமல்ல. இப்போதைப்போலவே முற்காலங்களிலும் தூதுவர்களின் வேலை புனிதமாக கருதப்பட்டது. உலகளாவிய தேசங்களின் சட்டம், தனிப்பட்ட கொடுமைக்கோ அல்லது அவமானத்திற்கோ எதிரான பாதுகாப்பை அவர்களுக்கு நிச்சயித்திருந்தது. தூதுவர்கள் அவனுடைய ஆட்சியின் பிரதிநிதிகளாக நிற்க, அவர்களுக்குக் காட்டப்பட்ட எந்தவொரு அவமரியாதையும் கௌரவமின்மையும் உடனடியான பதிலைக் கோரியது. இஸ்ரவேலுக்குக் கொடுக்கப்பட்ட அவமதிப்பு நிச்சயமாக பதிலளிக்கப்படும் என்று அறிந்து அம்மோனியர் யுத்தத்திற்கு ஆயத்தமடைந்தனர். அம்மோன் புத்திரர் தாங்கள் தாவீதுக்கு அருவருப்பானதைக் கண்ட போது, ஆனூனும் அம்மோன் புத்திரரும் மெசெபொத்தாமியாவிலும் மாக்கா சோபா என்னும் சீரியரின் தேசத்திலுமிருந்து தங்களுக்கு இரதங்களும் குதிரைவீரரும் கூலிக்கு வரும்படி ஆயிரம் தாலந்து வெள்ளி அனுப்பி, முப்பத்தீராயிரம் இரதங்களையும், இவர்கள் வந்து, மேதேபாவுக்கு முன்புறத்திலே பாளயமிறங்கினார்கள், அம்மோன் புத்திரரும் தங்கள் பட்டணங்களிலிருந்து கூடிக்கொண்டு யுத்தம் பண்ணவந்தார்கள். 1 நாளாகமம் 19:6,7. அது மெய்யாகவே வல்லமை மிக்க கூட்டணிதான். ஐபிராத்து நதிக்கும் மத்திய தரைக்கடலுக்கும் இடையே இருந்த குடிகள் அம்மோனியரோடு ஒப்பந்தம் செய்திருந்தனர். இஸ்ரவேலின் இராஜ்யத்தை நசுக்கிப்போட கானானின் வடக்கும் கிழக்கும் ஒன்றிணைந்த படை சிறந்த சத்துருக்களால் சூழப்பட்டது. தங்கள் நாட்டின் மேல் படையெடுக்கும் வரையிலும் எபிரெயர்கள் காத்திருக்கவில்லை. யோவாபின்கீழ் அவர்களுடைய படை யோர்தானைக் கடந்து அம்மோனியரின் தலைநகரை நோக்கி முன்னேறியது. எபிரெய தளபதி தன்னுடைய படையை களத்திற்கு நடத்திச் சென்ற போது தைரியமாயிரு, நாம் நம்முடைய ஜனத்திற்காகவும், நமது தேவனுடைய பட்டணங்களுக்காகவும் திடன் கொண்டிருக்கக்கடவோம் ; கர்த்தர் தமது பார்வைக்கு நலமானதைச் செய்வாராக (1 நாளா. 19:13) என்று கூறி அவர்களை போராட்டத்திற்கு ஊக்கப்படுத்த தேடினான். எதிரிநாடுகளின் இணைந்த படைகள் முதல் சந்திப்பில் மேற்கொள்ளப்பட்டன. எனினும் போட்டியை விட்டுவிட மனமின்றி அடுத்த வருடம் யுத்தத்தைப் புதுப்பித்தன. சீரியாவின் இராஜா தன்னுடைய படைகளைச் சேர்த்து மிகப் பெரிய படையோடு இஸ்ரவேலைப் பயமுறுத்தினான். தாவீது இந்த போராட்டத்தின் விளைவு என்ன வாயிருக்கும் என்பதை உணர்ந்து தனிப்பட்ட முறையில் களத்திற்கு வந்தான். தேவனுடைய ஆசீர்வாதத்தினால் எதிரிநாடுகள் மிகவும் மோசமாக தோற்கடிக்கப்பட, லீபனோனிலிருந்து ஐபிராத்து வரையிலும் சீரியர் யுத்தத்தை மாத்திரம் நிறுத்தாது, இஸ்ரவேலுக்கு பகுதிகட்டுகிறவர்களுமானார்கள். அம்மோனியருக்கு எதிராக தாவீது பலத்தோடு யுத்தத்தில் நுழைந்து, அவர்களுடைய அரண்கள் விழுந்து முழு தேசமும் இஸ்ரவேலின் ஆட்சிக்குள் வருமளவும் யுத்தத்தை நடத்தினான். 🙏Devotion Time : 02-June-2024       🛐Father of Lights 💫 Ch. 70-The Reign of David-9 (of 11) KJV 2 Samuel 10:12 Be of good courage, and let us play the men for our people, and for the cities of our God: and the LORD do that which seemeth him good. Then there was formed against the kingdom of David a vast coalition of the surrounding nations, out of which grew the greatest wars and victories of his reign and the most extensive accessions to his power. This hostile alliance, which really sprang from jealousy of David's increasing power, had been wholly unprovoked by him. The circumstances that led to its rise were these: Tidings were received at Jerusalem announcing the death of Nahash, king of the Ammonites—a monarch who had shown kindness to David when he was a fugitive from the rage of Saul. Now, desiring to express his grateful appreciation of the favor shown him in his distress, David sent ambassadors with a message of sympathy to Hanun, the son and successor of the Ammonite king. “Said David, I will show kindness unto Hanun the son of Nahash, as his father showed kindness unto me.” But his courteous act was misinterpreted. The Ammonites hated the true God and were the bitter enemies of Israel. The apparent kindness of Nahash to David had been prompted wholly by hostility to Saul as king of Israel. The message of David was misconstrued by Hanun's counselors. They “said unto Hanun their lord, Thinkest thou that David doth honor thy father, that he hath sent comforters unto thee? hath not David rather sent his servants unto thee, to search the city, and to spy it out, and to overthrow it?” It was by the advice of his counselors that Nahash, half a century before, had been led to make the cruel condition required of the people of Jabesh-gilead, when, besieged by the Ammonites, they sued for a covenant of peace. Nahash had demanded the privilege of thrusting out all their right eyes. The Ammonites still vividly remembered how the king of Israel had foiled their cruel design, and had rescued the people whom they would have humbled and mutilated. The same hatred of Israel still prompted them. They could have no conception of the generous spirit that had inspired David's message. When Satan controls the minds of men he will excite envy and suspicion which will misconstrue the very best intentions. Listening to his counselors, Hanun regarded David's messengers as spies, and loaded them with scorn and insult. 🙏 தியான நேரம் : 02-ஜூன்-2024          🛐Father of Lights💫 70- தாவீதின் ஆட்சி-9 (11-ல்) தைரியமாயிரு, நம்முடைய ஜனத்திற்காகவும் நம்முடைய தேவனுடைய பட்டணங்களுக்காகவும் சவுரியத்தைக் காட்டுவோம். கர்த்தர் தமது பார்வைக்கு நலமானதைச் செய்வாராக என்றான். 2 சாமுவேல் 10:12 பின்னர் தாவீதின் இராஜ்யத்திற்கு எதிராக சுற்றியிருக்கும் தேசங்களின் திரண்டு பரந்த அணி உருவானது. அதிலிருந்து மிகப்பெரிய யுத்தங்களும், அவனுடைய ஆட்சியின் வெற்றிகளும், அவனுடைய வல்லமைக்கு மிகப் பரந்த உயர்வும் உண்டானது. உண்மையில் தாவீதின் வளரும் வல்லமையின் மேல் உண்டான பொறாமையினால் துளிர்த்த இந்த எதிரிநாடுகள் அவனால் சிறிதும் தூண்டப்பட்டவைகள் அல்ல. அவைகளின் எழுச்சிக்கு நடத்தின் சூழ்நிலைகள் : சவுலின் உக்கிரத்திலிருந்து தப்பியோடின் போது தாவீதிற்கு தயவு காண்பித்த அம்மோனிய இராஜாவான நாகாஷின் மரணத்தை அறிவித்த செய்திகள் எருசலேமிற்கு வந்தன. அப் பொழுது தாவீது : ஆனூனின் தகப்பனாகிய நாகாஸ் எனக்குத் தயை செய்தது போல், அவன் குமாரனாகிய இவனுக்கு நான் தயை செய்வேன் என்று சொல்லி தன்னுடைய நெருக்கத்தில் தனக்குக் காண்பிக்கப்பட்ட தயவை நன்றியோடு பாராட்டுவதை வெளிக் காட்டும் வாஞ்சையில் இப்போது அம்மோனிய இராஜாவின் மகனான ஆனோனுக்கு இரக்க செய்தியோடு தூதுவர்களை அனுப்பினான். ஆனால் மரியாதையான செயல் தவறாக அர்த்தப்படுத்தப்பட்டது. அம்மோனியர் மெய்யான தெய்வத்தை வெறுத்து இஸ்ரவேலரின் மிகக் கசப்பான சத்துருக்களா யிருந்தனர். தாவீதிற்குக் காட்டப்பட்ட நாகாஷின் தயவு, இஸ்ரவேலின் இராஜாவான சவுலின் மேலிருந்த விரோதத்தினால் தான் முழுமையாக தூண்டப்பட்டிருந்தது. ஆனோனின் ஆலோசகர்களால் தாவீதின் செய்தி தவறாகப் பொருட்படுத்தப்பட்டது. அவர்கள் : தாவீது ஆறுதல் சொல்லுகிறவர்களை உம்மிடத்தில் அனுப்பினது, உம்முடைய தகப்பனைக் கனம் பண்ணுகிறதாய் உமக்குத் தோன்றுகிறதோ? இந்தப் பட்டணத்தை ஆராய்ந்து, உளவு பார்த்து, அதைக் கவிழ்த்துப்போட அல்லவோ தாவீது தன் ஊழியக்காரரை உம்மிடத்திற்கு அனுப்பினான் என்று கூறினார்கள். அவனுடைய ஆலோசகர்களின் ஆலோசனையினால் தான் ஐம்பது வருடங்களுக்கு முன்கிலேயாத் யாபேசின் மக்களிடம் கொடுமையான நிபந்தனையை கோர நாகாஷ் நடத்தப்பட்டான். அம்மோனியர்களால் முற்றுகையிடப்பட்டிருந்தபோது அவர்கள் சமாதான உடன்படிக்கைக்காக விண்ணப்பித்திருந்தனர். நாகாஷ் அனைவருடைய வலது கண்ணையும் பிடுங்கும் சந்தர்ப்பத்தைக் கோரினான். இஸ்ரவேலின் இராஜா அவர்களுடைய கொடுமையான திட்டத்தை எப்படி முறியடித்தான் என்பதையும், அவர்கள் சிறுமைப்படுத்தி சிதைத்திருக்கக் கூடிய மக்களை எப்படி காப்பாற்றினான் என்பதையும் அம்மோனியர் இன்னமும் தெளிவாக நினைவில் வைத்திருந்தனர். இஸ்ரவேலின் மேலிருந்த அதே வெறுப்பு இன்னமும் அவர்களை தூண்டியிருந்தது. தாவீதின் செய்தியை ஏவியிருந்த தாராளமான ஆவியைக் குறித்த எந்த புரிந்து கொள்ளுதலும் அவர்களுக்கு இருக்கமுடியாது. சாத்தான் மனிதரின் மனங்களைக் கட்டுப்படுத்தும் போது மிகச் சிறந்த நோக்கங்களையும் தவறாக எண்ணுகிற பொறாமையையும் சந்தேகத்தையும் எழுப்பிவிடுவான். ஆனோன் அவர்களுடைய ஆலோசனைகளைகவனித்து தாவீதின் தூதுவர்களை வேவுகாரராக கருதி அவமானத்தையும் இகழ்ச்சியையும் அவர்களுக்குக் கொடுத்தான். 🙏Devotion Time : 01-June-2024       🛐Father of Lights 💫 Ch. 70-The Reign of David-8 (of 11) KJV 2 Samuel 7:19 And this was yet a small thing in thy sight, O Lord GOD; but thou hast spoken also of thy servant's house for a great while to come. And is this the manner of man, O Lord GOD? David knew that it would be an honor to his name and would bring glory to his government to perform the work that he had purposed in his heart to do, but he was ready to submit his will to the will of God. The grateful resignation thus manifested is rarely seen, even among Christians. How often do those who have passed the strength of manhood cling to the hope of accomplishing some great work upon which their hearts are set, but which they are unfitted to perform! God's providence may speak to them, as did His prophet to David, declaring that the work which they so much desire is not committed to them. It is theirs to prepare the way for another to accomplish it. But instead of gratefully submitting to the divine direction, many fall back as if slighted and rejected, feeling that if they cannot do the one thing which they desire to do, they will do nothing. Many cling with desperate energy to responsibilities which they are incapable of bearing, and vainly endeavor to accomplish a work for which they are insufficient, while that which they might do, lies neglected. And because of this lack of co-operation on their part the greater work is hindered or frustrated. David, in his covenant with Jonathan, had promised that when he should have rest from his enemies he would show kindness to the house of Saul. In his prosperity, mindful of this covenant, the king made inquiry, “Is there yet any that is left of the house of Saul, that I may show him kindness for Jonathan's sake?” He was told of a son of Jonathan, Mephibosheth, who had been lame from childhood. At the time of Saul's defeat by the Philistines at Jezreel, the nurse of this child, attempting to flee with him, had let him fall, thus making him a lifelong cripple. David now summoned the young man to court and received him with great kindness. The private possessions of Saul were restored to him for the support of his household; but the son of Jonathan was himself to be the constant guest of the king, sitting daily at the royal table. Through reports from the enemies of David, Mephibosheth had been led to cherish a strong prejudice against him as a usurper; but the monarch's generous and courteous reception of him and his continued kindness won the heart of the young man; he became strongly attached to David, and, like his father Jonathan, he felt that his interest was one with that of the king whom God had chosen. After David's establishment upon the throne of Israel the nation enjoyed a long interval of peace. The surrounding peoples, seeing the strength and unity of the kingdom, soon thought it prudent to desist from open hostilities; and David, occupied with the organization and upbuilding of his kingdom, refrained from aggressive war. At last, however, he made war upon Israel's old enemies, the Philistines, and upon the Moabites, and succeeded in overcoming both and making them tributary. 🙏 தியான நேரம் : 01-ஜூன்-2024          🛐Father of Lights💫 70- தாவீதின் ஆட்சி-8 (11-ல்) கர்த்தராகிய ஆண்டவரே, இது இன்னும் உம்முடைய பார்வைக்குக் கொஞ்ச காரியமாயிருக்கிறது என்று கர்த்தராகிய ஆண்டவராயிருக்கிற தேவரீர் உம்முடைய அடியானுடைய வீட்டைக்குறித்து, வெகுதூரமாயிருக்கும் காலத்துச் செய்தியை மனுஷர் முறைமையாய்ச் சென்னீரே. 2 சாமுவேல் 7:19 அவனுடைய இருதயத்தில் நேசித்திருந்த நோக்கம் மறுக்கப்பட்ட போதும் தாவீது நன்றியோடு செய்தியைப் பெற்றுக்கொண்டு, கர்த்தராகிய ஆண்டவரே, தேவரீர் என்னை இதுவரைக்கும் கொண்டு வந்ததற்கு, நான் எம்மாத்திரம்? என் வீடும் எம்மாத்திரம்? கர்த்தராகிய ஆண்டவரே, இது இன்னும் உம்முடைய பார்வைக்குக் கொஞ்ச காரியமாயிருக்கிறது என்று கர்த்தராகிய ஆண்டவராயிருக்கிற தேவரீர் உம்முடைய அடியா னுடைய வீட்டைக் குறித்து, வெகுதூரமாயிருக்கும் காலத்துச் செய்தியை மனுஷர் முறைமையாய்ச் சொன்னீரே என்று கூறினான். பின்னர் தேவனுடனான தன் உடன்படிக்கையை அவன் புதுப்பித்தான். செய்யவேண்டுமென்று அவனுடைய இருதயத்தில் நோக்க மாயிருந்த வேலையை நடப்பிப்பது அவனுடைய பெயருக்கு கனமாயிருந்து அவனுடைய இராஜ்யத்திற்கு மகிமையை கொண்டு வரும் என்று தாவீது அறிந்தான். ஆனாலும் தன்னுடைய சித்தத்தை தேவனுடைய சித்தத்திற்கு ஒப்படைக்க ஆயத்தமாயிருந்தான். இவ்விதம் வெளிக்காட்டப்பட்ட நன்றியறிதலான விட்டு விலகல் அபூர்வமாகவே கிறிஸ்தவர்கள் நடுவிலுங்கூட காணப்படுகிறது. மனித பெலத்தின் உச்ச வயதைக் கடந்து முதிர்ந்தவர்கள் பல வேளைகளில், தங்கள் இருதயத்தின் நோக்கமாயிருக்கிற ஒரு பெரிய காரியத்தை நிறைவேற்றும் நம்பிக்கையை பிடித்துக் கொண்டிருக்கிறார்கள். ஆனாலும் அதைச் செய்யத் தகுதியற்றவர்களாக இருக்கிறார்கள். அந்த வேலை அவனிடம் கொடுக்கப்படவில்லை என்று அவருடைய தீர்க்கதரிசி வழியாக தாவீதிடம் பேசினதைப்போன்று, தேவனுடைய ஏற்பாடு அவர்களோடு பேசலாம். அதை நிறைவேற்ற மற்றொருவருக்குப் பாதையை ஆயத்தம் செய்வது அவர்களுடைய வேலையாயிருக்கலாம். ஆனாலும் தெய்வீக நடத்துதலுக்கு நன்றியோடு ஒப்படைப்பதற்குப் பதிலாக அவமானப்படுத்தப்பட்டதாகவும் நிராகரிக்கப்பட்டதாகவும் நினைத்துப் பின்வாங்கி, தாங்கள் வாஞ்சித்திருந்த அந்த ஒரு காரியத்தை செய்யக்கூடாதெனில், வேறு ஒன்றையுமே செய்யக்கூடாது என்று நினைக்கிறார்கள். தாங்கள் செய்யக்கூடிய வேலை நெகிழப்பட்டிருக்கும் போது, அநேகர் செய்ய பலமில்லாத வேலை நிறைவேற்ற வீணாக முயற்சித்து, நம்பிக்கையற்ற பலத்தோடு சுமக்கக்கூடாத பொறுப்புகளைப் பிடித்துக்கொண்டிருக்கிறார்கள். தங்கள் பங்கில் இணைந்து செயல்படாத இந்தக் குறைவினால் மாபெரும் வேலை தடை செய்யப்படுகிறது அல்லது முடக்கப்படுகிறது. தாவீது யோனத்தானுடனான உடன்படிக்கையில் தன்னுடையல் பெறும்போது சவுலின் குடும்பத்திற்கு தயவு காண்பிப்பதாக உறுதியளித்திருந்தான். தன்னுடைய செழிப்பில் இந்த உடன்படிக்கையை நினைவுகூர்ந்தவனாக, யோனத்தான் நிமித்தம் என்னால் தயவு பெறத்தக்கவன் எவனாவது சவுலின் வீட்டாரில் இன்னும் மீதியாயிருக்கிறவன் உண்டா என்று இராஜா விசாரித்தான். குழந்தைப் பருவத்திலிருந்து முடமாயிருந்த யோனத்தானின் குமாரன் மேவிபோசேத்தைக்குறித்து அவனுக்கு அறிவிக்கப்பட்டது. யெஸ்ரயேலில் பெலிஸ்தரால் சவுல் தோற்கடிக்கப்பட்டபோது மேவிபோசேத்தின் தாதி அவனோடு ஓடிச்செல்லும் முயற்சியில் அவனை தவறவிட, அவன் வாழ்நாள் முழுவதும் இவ்விதம் முடமானான். தாவீது இப்போது அவனை அவைக்கு அழைத்து மாபெரும் தயவோடு சேர்த்துக்கொண்டான். சவுலினுடைய தனிப்பட்ட சொத்துக்கள் அவனுடைய வீட்டாருக்கு ஆதரவாக திரும்ப அவனிடம் கொடுக்கப்பட்டது. ஆனால் யோனத்தானின் குமாரன் அரச மேசையில் அனுதினமும் அமரு கிறவனாக, இராஜாவின் தொடர்விருந்தாளியாக இருக்கவேண்டும். தாவீதின் சத்துருக்களிடமிருந்து வந்த செய்திகளினால் அவனை ஒரு அபகரிப்போனென்று அவனுக்கெதிரான ஒரு பலமான சிந்தையை வளர்க்க மேவிபோசேத் நடத்தப்பட்டிருந்தான். ஆனால் பேரரசனின் தாராளமும் தன்னை மரியாதையோடு வரவேற்றதும் அவனுடைய தொடர்ச்சியான தயவும் இந்த வாலிபனின் மனதை வெற்றிகொண்டது. அவன் தாவீதோடு பலமாக இணைக்கப்பட்டு, அவனுடைய தகப்பன்யோனத்தானைப் போலவே தேவன் தெரிந்து கொண்ட அரசனுடைய விருப்பங்களோடு தன்னுடைய விருப்பங்களும் ஒன்றாக இருப் பதை உணர்ந்தான். தாவீது இஸ்ரவேலின் சிங்காசனத்தின் மேல் ஸ்தாபிக்கப்பட்ட பின்னர் தேசம் மிக நீண்ட சமாதான காலத்தை அனுபவித்தது. சுற்றிலுமிருந்த ஜனங்கள் தேசத்தின் பலத்தையும் ஐக்கியத்தையும் கண்டு, வெளிப்படையான விரோதம் காண்பிப்பதிலிருந்து விலகியிருப்பது விவேகம் என்று விரைவில் நினைத்தனர். தாவீது தன்னுடைய இராஜ்யத்தை அமைப்பதிலும் மேலே கொண்டுவருவ திலும் ஆக்கிரமிக்கப்பட்டு வலிய தாக்குவதைத் தவிர்த்திருந்தான். எனினும் கடைசியாக இஸ்ரவேலரின் பழைய சத்துருவான பெலிஸ் தர்மேலும் மோவாபியர் மேலும் யுத்தஞ் செய்து இருவரையும் வெற்றி கொண்டு அவர்களை தனக்குக் கப்பங்கட்டச் செய்தான்.

🙏Devotion Time : 31-May-2024       🛐Father of Lights 💫 Ch. 70-The Reign of David-7 (of 11) KJV 1 Chronicles 22:10 He shall build an house for my name; and he shall be my son, and I will be his father; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel for ever. The tabernacle built by Moses, with all that appertained to the sanctuary service, except the ark, was still at Gibeah. It was David's purpose to make Jerusalem the religious center of the nation. He had erected a palace for himself, and he felt that it was not fitting for the ark of God to rest within a tent. He determined to build for it a temple of such magnificence as should express Israel's appreciation of the honor granted the nation in the abiding presence of Jehovah their King. Communicating his purpose to the prophet Nathan, he received the encouraging response, “Do all that is in thine heart; for the Lord is with thee.” But that same night the word of the Lord came to Nathan, giving him a message for the king. David was to be deprived of the privilege of building a house for God, but he was granted an assurance of the divine favor to him, to his posterity, and to the kingdom of Israel: “Thus saith Jehovah of hosts; I took thee from the sheepcote, from following the sheep, to be ruler over My people, over Israel; and I was with thee whithersoever thou wentest, and have cut off all thine enemies out of thy sight, and have made thee a great name, like unto the name of the great men that are in the earth. Moreover I will appoint a place for My people Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in a place of their own, and move no more; neither shall the children of wickedness afflict them any more, as beforetime.” As David had desired to build a house for God, the promise was given. “The Lord telleth thee that He will make thee a house.... I will set up thy seed after thee.... He shall build a house for My name, and I will stablish the throne of his kingdom forever.” The reason why David was not to build the temple was declared: “Thou hast shed blood abundantly, and hast made great wars: thou shalt not build a house unto My name.... Behold, a son shall be born to thee, who shall be a man of rest; and I will give him rest from all his enemies: ... his name shall be Solomon [peaceable], and I will give peace and quietness unto Israel in his days. He shall build a house for My name.” 1 Chronicles 22:8-10. Though the cherished purpose of his heart had been denied, David received the message with gratitude. “Who am I, O Lord God?” he exclaimed, “and what is my house, that Thou hast brought me hitherto? And this was yet a small thing in Thy sight, O Lord God; but Thou hast spoken also of Thy servant's house for a great while to come;” and he then renewed his covenant with God. 🙏Devotion Time : 30-May-2024       🛐Father of Lights 💫 Ch. 70-The Reign of David-6 (of 11) KJV Psalms 24:8 Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle. Thus musing, David turned toward his palace, “to bless his household.” But there was one who had witnessed the scene of rejoicing with a spirit widely different from that which moved the heart of David. “As the ark of the Lord came into the city of David, Michal Saul's daughter looked through a window, and saw King David leaping and dancing before the Lord; and she despised him in her heart.” In the bitterness of her passion she could not await David's return to the palace, but went out to meet him, and to his kindly greeting poured forth a torrent of bitter words. Keen and cutting was the irony of her speech: “How glorious was the king of Israel today, who uncovered himself today in the eyes of the handmaids of his servants, as one of the vain fellows shamelessly uncovereth himself!” David felt that it was the service of God which Michal had despised and dishonored, and he sternly answered: “It was before the Lord, which chose me before thy father, and before all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the Lord, over Israel: therefore will I play before the Lord. And I will yet be more vile than thus, and will be base in mine own sight: and of the maidservants which thou hast spoken of, of them shall I be had in honor.” To David's rebuke was added that of the Lord: because of her pride and arrogance, Michal “had no child unto the day of her death.” The solemn ceremonies attending the removal of the ark had made a lasting impression upon the people of Israel, arousing a deeper interest in the sanctuary service and kindling anew their zeal for Jehovah. David endeavored by every means in his power to deepen these impressions. The service of song was made a regular part of religious worship, and David composed psalms, not only for the use of the priests in the sanctuary service, but also to be sung by the people in their journeys to the national altar at the annual feasts. The influence thus exerted was far-reaching, and it resulted in freeing the nation from idolatry. Many of the surrounding peoples, beholding the prosperity of Israel, were led to think favorably of Israel's God, who had done such great things for His people. 🙏 தியான நேரம் : 30-மேய்-2024          🛐Father of Lights💫 70- தாவீதின் ஆட்சி-6 (11-ல்) யார் இந்த மகிமையின் ராஜா? அவர் வல்லமையும் பராக்கிரமமுமுள்ள கர்த்தர், அவர் யுத்தத்தில் பராக்கிரமமுள்ள கர்த்தராமே. சங்கீதம் 24:8 இவ்வாறு சிந்தித்தவனாக தன் வீட்டாரை ஆசீர்வதிக்கிறதற்கு தாவீது அரண்மனையை நோக்கித் திரும்பினான். ஆனால் தாவீதின் இருதயத்தை அசைத்திருந்த ஆவியைக் காட்டிலும் மிகவும் வேறுபட்டிருந்த ஒரு ஆவியோடு மகிழ்ச்சியின் காட்சியைக் கண்டிருந்த ஒருவர் அங்கே இருந்தார். கர்த்தருடைய பெட்டி தாவீதின் நகரத்துக்குள் பிரவேசிக்கிறபோது, சவுலின் குமாரத்தி யாகிய மீகாள் பலகணி வழியாகப் பார்த்து, தாவீதுராஜா கர்த் தருக்கு முன்பாகக் குதித்து, நடனம் பண்ணுகிறதைக் கண்டு, தன் இருதயத்திலே அவனை அவமதித்தாள். தாவீது அரண்மனைக்குத் திரும்பும் வரையிலும் தன்னுடைய உணர்வுகளின் கசப்பில் அவளால் காத்திருக்க முடியவில்லை. அவனைச் சந்திக்கும்படி அவள் வெளியே சென்று அவனுடைய தயவான வாழ்த்துதலுக்கு கசப்பான வார்த்தைகளை வீசினாள். அவளுடைய வார்த்தைகளின் முரண்பாடு கூர்மையானதும் நடுங்கச் செய்வதுமாயிருந்தது. அற்பமனுஷரில் ஒருவன் தன் வஸ்திரங்களைக் கழற்றிப் போடுகிறது போல், இன்று தம்முடைய ஊழியக்காரருடைய பெண்களின் கண்களுக்கு முன்பாகத் தம்முடைய வஸ்திரங்களை உரிந்து போட்டிருந்த இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜா இன்று எத்தனை மகிமைப்பட்டிருந்தார் என்றாள். மீகாள் நிந்தித்து அவமதித்திருந்தது தேவனுடைய ஆராதனையையே என்று தாவீது உணர்ந்து, உன் தகப்பனைப் பார்க்கிலும் அவருடைய எல்லா வீட்டாரைப் பார்க்கிலும், என்னை இஸ்ர வேலாகிய கர்த்தருடைய ஜனத்தின் மேல் தலைவனாகக் கட்டளையிடும் படிக்குத் தெரிந்து கொண்ட கர்த்தருடைய சமுகத்திற்கு முன்பாக ஆடிப்பாடினேன். இதைப்பார்க்கிலும் இன்னும் நான் நீசனும் என் பார்வைக்கு அற்பனுமாவேன் : அப்படியே நீ சொன்ன பெண்களுக்குங் கூட மகிமையாய் விளங்குவேன் என்று கடுமையாகப்பதில் கொடுத்தான். தாவீதின் கடிந்து கொள்ளுதலோடு ஆண்டவருடையதும் சேர்ந்தது. பெருமையினாலும் அகந்தையி னாலும் மீகாளுக்கு மரணமடையும் நாள் மட்டும் பிள்ளை இல்லா திருந்தது. கர்த்தருடைய பெட்டியை கொண்டுவந்ததோடு இணைந்த பவித்திரமாக சடங்குகள் இஸ்ரவேலரின் மனங்களில் ஆழமான பதிப்பை உண்டாக்கி ஆசரிப்புக் கூடார ஊழியத்தில் ஆழமான வாஞ்சையைத் தூண்டி யெகோவாவிற்கான அவர்களுடைய பக்தியை புதியதாக கிளறியிருந்தது. தாவீது தன் வல்லமையிலிருந்த அனைத்தினாலும் இந்த பதிப்புகளை ஆழப்படுத்த முயற்சித்தான். பாடலின் தொழுகை மத ஆராதனையில் வழக்கமான பங்காக செய்யப்பட்டது. தாவீது ஆசரிப்புக் கூடாரத்தின் வேலையிலிருந்த ஆசாரியருக்காக மாத்திரமல்ல, வருடாந்தர பண்டிகைகளில் தேசத்தின் பலிபீடத்திற்கு வரும் மக்கள் அவர்களுடைய பிரயாணங்களில் பாடுவதற்காகவும் சங்கீதங்களை இயற்றினான். இவ்விதம் கொடுக்கப்பட்ட செல்வாக்கு நீண்ட தூரம் சென்று தேசத்தை விக்கிரகாராதனையிலிருந்து விடுவிப்பதில் முடிந்தது. சுற்றிலுமிருந்த அநேக ஜாதிகள் இஸ்ரவேலின் செழிப்பைக் கண்டு, தம்முடைய ஜனங்களுக்காக இப்படிப்பட்ட மாபெரும் காரியங்களைச் செய்த இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனைக்குறித்து பிரியமாக நினைக்க நடத்தப்பட்டனர். 🙏Devotion Time : 30-May-2024       🛐Father of Lights 💫 Ch. 70-The Reign of David-6 (of 11) KJV Psalms 24:8 Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle. Thus musing, David turned toward his palace, “to bless his household.” But there was one who had witnessed the scene of rejoicing with a spirit widely different from that which moved the heart of David. “As the ark of the Lord came into the city of David, Michal Saul's daughter looked through a window, and saw King David leaping and dancing before the Lord; and she despised him in her heart.” In the bitterness of her passion she could not await David's return to the palace, but went out to meet him, and to his kindly greeting poured forth a torrent of bitter words. Keen and cutting was the irony of her speech: “How glorious was the king of Israel today, who uncovered himself today in the eyes of the handmaids of his servants, as one of the vain fellows shamelessly uncovereth himself!” David felt that it was the service of God which Michal had despised and dishonored, and he sternly answered: “It was before the Lord, which chose me before thy father, and before all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the Lord, over Israel: therefore will I play before the Lord. And I will yet be more vile than thus, and will be base in mine own sight: and of the maidservants which thou hast spoken of, of them shall I be had in honor.” To David's rebuke was added that of the Lord: because of her pride and arrogance, Michal “had no child unto the day of her death.” The solemn ceremonies attending the removal of the ark had made a lasting impression upon the people of Israel, arousing a deeper interest in the sanctuary service and kindling anew their zeal for Jehovah. David endeavored by every means in his power to deepen these impressions. The service of song was made a regular part of religious worship, and David composed psalms, not only for the use of the priests in the sanctuary service, but also to be sung by the people in their journeys to the national altar at the annual feasts. The influence thus exerted was far-reaching, and it resulted in freeing the nation from idolatry. Many of the surrounding peoples, beholding the prosperity of Israel, were led to think favorably of Israel's God, who had done such great things for His people. 🙏 தியான நேரம் : 30-மேய்-2024          🛐Father of Lights💫 70- தாவீதின் ஆட்சி-6 (11-ல்) யார் இந்த மகிமையின் ராஜா? அவர் வல்லமையும் பராக்கிரமமுமுள்ள கர்த்தர், அவர் யுத்தத்தில் பராக்கிரமமுள்ள கர்த்தராமே. சங்கீதம் 24:8 இவ்வாறு சிந்தித்தவனாக தன் வீட்டாரை ஆசீர்வதிக்கிறதற்கு தாவீது அரண்மனையை நோக்கித் திரும்பினான். ஆனால் தாவீதின் இருதயத்தை அசைத்திருந்த ஆவியைக் காட்டிலும் மிகவும் வேறுபட்டிருந்த ஒரு ஆவியோடு மகிழ்ச்சியின் காட்சியைக் கண்டிருந்த ஒருவர் அங்கே இருந்தார். கர்த்தருடைய பெட்டி தாவீதின் நகரத்துக்குள் பிரவேசிக்கிறபோது, சவுலின் குமாரத்தி யாகிய மீகாள் பலகணி வழியாகப் பார்த்து, தாவீதுராஜா கர்த் தருக்கு முன்பாகக் குதித்து, நடனம் பண்ணுகிறதைக் கண்டு, தன் இருதயத்திலே அவனை அவமதித்தாள். தாவீது அரண்மனைக்குத் திரும்பும் வரையிலும் தன்னுடைய உணர்வுகளின் கசப்பில் அவளால் காத்திருக்க முடியவில்லை. அவனைச் சந்திக்கும்படி அவள் வெளியே சென்று அவனுடைய தயவான வாழ்த்துதலுக்கு கசப்பான வார்த்தைகளை வீசினாள். அவளுடைய வார்த்தைகளின் முரண்பாடு கூர்மையானதும் நடுங்கச் செய்வதுமாயிருந்தது. அற்பமனுஷரில் ஒருவன் தன் வஸ்திரங்களைக் கழற்றிப் போடுகிறது போல், இன்று தம்முடைய ஊழியக்காரருடைய பெண்களின் கண்களுக்கு முன்பாகத் தம்முடைய வஸ்திரங்களை உரிந்து போட்டிருந்த இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜா இன்று எத்தனை மகிமைப்பட்டிருந்தார் என்றாள். மீகாள் நிந்தித்து அவமதித்திருந்தது தேவனுடைய ஆராதனையையே என்று தாவீது உணர்ந்து, உன் தகப்பனைப் பார்க்கிலும் அவருடைய எல்லா வீட்டாரைப் பார்க்கிலும், என்னை இஸ்ர வேலாகிய கர்த்தருடைய ஜனத்தின் மேல் தலைவனாகக் கட்டளையிடும் படிக்குத் தெரிந்து கொண்ட கர்த்தருடைய சமுகத்திற்கு முன்பாக ஆடிப்பாடினேன். இதைப்பார்க்கிலும் இன்னும் நான் நீசனும் என் பார்வைக்கு அற்பனுமாவேன் : அப்படியே நீ சொன்ன பெண்களுக்குங் கூட மகிமையாய் விளங்குவேன் என்று கடுமையாகப்பதில் கொடுத்தான். தாவீதின் கடிந்து கொள்ளுதலோடு ஆண்டவருடையதும் சேர்ந்தது. பெருமையினாலும் அகந்தையி னாலும் மீகாளுக்கு மரணமடையும் நாள் மட்டும் பிள்ளை இல்லா திருந்தது. கர்த்தருடைய பெட்டியை கொண்டுவந்ததோடு இணைந்த பவித்திரமாக சடங்குகள் இஸ்ரவேலரின் மனங்களில் ஆழமான பதிப்பை உண்டாக்கி ஆசரிப்புக் கூடார ஊழியத்தில் ஆழமான வாஞ்சையைத் தூண்டி யெகோவாவிற்கான அவர்களுடைய பக்தியை புதியதாக கிளறியிருந்தது. தாவீது தன் வல்லமையிலிருந்த அனைத்தினாலும் இந்த பதிப்புகளை ஆழப்படுத்த முயற்சித்தான். பாடலின் தொழுகை மத ஆராதனையில் வழக்கமான பங்காக செய்யப்பட்டது. தாவீது ஆசரிப்புக் கூடாரத்தின் வேலையிலிருந்த ஆசாரியருக்காக மாத்திரமல்ல, வருடாந்தர பண்டிகைகளில் தேசத்தின் பலிபீடத்திற்கு வரும் மக்கள் அவர்களுடைய பிரயாணங்களில் பாடுவதற்காகவும் சங்கீதங்களை இயற்றினான். இவ்விதம் கொடுக்கப்பட்ட செல்வாக்கு நீண்ட தூரம் சென்று தேசத்தை விக்கிரகாராதனையிலிருந்து விடுவிப்பதில் முடிந்தது. சுற்றிலுமிருந்த அநேக ஜாதிகள் இஸ்ரவேலின் செழிப்பைக் கண்டு, தம்முடைய ஜனங்களுக்காக இப்படிப்பட்ட மாபெரும் காரியங்களைச் செய்த இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனைக்குறித்து பிரியமாக நினைக்க நடத்தப்பட்டனர். David's dancing in reverent joy before God has been cited by pleasure lovers in justification of the fashionable modern dance, but there is no ground for such an argument. In our day dancing is associated with folly and midnight reveling. Health and morals are sacrificed to pleasure. By the frequenters of the ballroom God is not an object of thought and reverence; prayer or the song of praise would be felt to be out of place in their assemblies. This test should be decisive. Amusements that have a tendency to weaken the love for sacred things and lessen our joy in the service of God are not to be sought by Christians. The music and dancing in joyful praise to God at the removal of the ark had not the faintest resemblance to the dissipation of modern dancing. The one tended to the remembrance of God and exalted His holy name. The other is a device of Satan to cause men to forget God and to dishonor Him. The triumphal procession approached the capital, following the sacred symbol of their invisible King. Then a burst of song demanded of the watchers upon the walls that the gates of the Holy City should be thrown open: “Lift up your heads, O ye gates; And be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; And the King of glory shall come in.” A band of singers and players answered: “Who is this King of glory?” From another company came the response: “The Lord strong and mighty, The Lord mighty in battle.” Then hundreds of voices, uniting, swelled the triumphal chorus: “Lift up your heads, O ye gates; Even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; And the King of glory shall come in.” Again the joyful interrogation was heard, “Who is this King of glory?” And the voice of the great multitude, like “the sound of many waters,” was heard in the rapturous reply: “The Lord of hosts, He is the King of glory.” Psalm 24:7-10. Then the gates were opened wide, the procession entered, and with reverent awe the ark was deposited in the tent that had been prepared for its reception. Before the sacred enclosure altars for sacrifice were erected; the smoke of peace offerings and burnt offerings, and the clouds of incense, with the praises and supplications of Israel, ascended to heaven. The service ended, the king himself pronounced a benediction upon his people. Then with regal bounty he caused gifts of food and wine to be distributed for their refreshment. All the tribes had been represented in this service, the celebration of the most sacred event that had yet marked the reign of David. The Spirit of divine inspiration had rested upon the king, and now as the last beams of the setting sun bathed the tabernacle in a hallowed light, his heart was uplifted in gratitude to God that the blessed symbol of His presence was now so near the throne of Israel. 🙏 தியான நேரம் : 29-மேய்-2024          🛐Father of Lights💫 70- தாவீதின் ஆட்சி-5 (11-ல்) வாசல்களே, உங்கள் தலைகளை- உயர்த்துங்கள், அநாதி கதவுகளே, உயருங்கள்,, மகிமையின் ராஜா உட்பிரவேசிப்பார். சங்கீதம் 24:7 தேவனுக்கு முன்பாக பரிசுத்தமான மகிழ்ச்சியிலிருந்த தாவீதின் நடனம் இன்பத்தை நேசிக்கிறவர்களால் நாகரீகமான நடனத்தை நியாயப்படுத்தும்படி குறிப்பிடப்படுகிறது. ஆனால் அப்படிப்பட்ட வாதத்திற்கு எந்த இடமும் இல்லை. நம்முடைய நாட்களின் நடனம் மடத்தனத்தோடும் நடு இரவின் களியாட்டத்தோடும் தொடர்பு கொண்டிருக்கிறது. ஆரோக்கியமும் சன்மார்க்கமும் இன்பத்திற்கு பலி கொடுக்கப்படுகின்றன. நடன அறைக்கு அடிக்கடிப் போகிறவர்களின் சிந்தையிலோ அல்லது பயபக்தியிலோ தேவன் இல்லை. ஜெபமோ அல்லது துதியின் பாடலோ அவர்களுடைய கூடுகைகளில் பங்குபெறக்கூடாததென்று உணரப்படும். இந்த சோதனை தீர்மானமானதாயிருக்கவேண்டும். பரிசுத்தமான காரியங்களின் மேல் இருக்கிற அன்பை பலவீனப்படுத்தி, தேவனுடைய ஊழியத்திலிருக்கும் மகிழ்ச்சி யைக் குறைக்கும் பொழுது போக்குகள் கிறிஸ்தவர்களால் தேடப்படக்கூடாது. தேவனுடைய பெட்டியைக் கொண்டு வந்ததில் தேவனை மகிழ்ச்சியோடு துதித்ததிலிருந்த இசையும் நடனமும் நாகரீர் நடனத்திலிருக்கிற எந்தப் படிவத்தின் சாயலையும் சிறிதளவும் பெற்றிருக்கவில்லை . அது தேவனை நினைவுகூர்ந்து அவருடைய பரிசுத்த நாமத்தை உயர்த்தும் இயல்போடு இருந்தது. மற்ற தோ தேவனை மறந்து அவரை அவமதிக்க மனிதரை நடத்தும் சாத்தானுடைய கருவியாக இருக்கிறது. காணக் கூடாத அவர்களுடைய அரசரின் பரிசுத்தமான அடையாளத்தைப் பின்பற்றி வெற்றியின் ஊர்வலம் தலைநகரைச் சென்றடைந்தது. அப்போது பரிசுத்த நகரத்தின் வாசல்களைத் திறக்க வேண்டும் என்று சுவரின் மேலிருந்த காவல்காரரைக் கோரிய பாடல் எழுந்தது. வாசல்களே, உங்கள் தலைகளை உயர்த்துங்கள், அநாதி கதவுகளே, உயருங்கள்; மகிமையின் ராஜா உட்பிரவேசிப்பார். பாடகர்களும் இசை வாசிப்பாளரும் சேர்ந்த கூட்டம் : யார் இந்த மகிமையின் ராஜா? என்று பதில் கொடுத்தது. மற்றொரு கூட்டத்திலிருந்து : அவர்வல்லமையும் பராக்கிரமமுமுள்ள கர்த்தர்; அவர் யுத்தத்தில் பராக்கிரமமுள்ள கர்த்தராமே என்று பதில் வந்தது. பின்னர் நூற்றுக்கணக்கான குரல்கள் வெற்றியின் பாடலில் உயர்ந்தது. வாசல்களே, உங்கள் தலைகளை உயர்த்துங்கள்; அநாதி கதவுகளே, உயருங்கள், மகிமையின் ராஜா உட்பிரவேசிப்பார். மீண்டும் யார் இந்த மகிமையின் ராஜா? என்ற மகிழ்ச்சியான கேள்வி கேட்கப்பட்டது. திரளான கூட்டத்தின் குரல் பெருவெள்ளத்து இரைச்சலின் தொனியில் அவர் சேனைகளின் கர்த்தரானவர்; அவரே மகிமையின் ராஜா என்று மகிழ்ச்சியில் கூறுவது கேட்கப்பட்டது. பின்னர் வாசல்கள் அகலமாகத் திறக்கப்பட ஊர்வலம் நுழைந்தது. கர்த்தருடைய பெட்டி அதைப் பெற்றுக்கொள்ளும் படியாக ஆயத்தப்படுத்தப்பட்டிருந்த கூடாரத்திற்குள் பயபக்தியான மரியாதையோடு வைக்கப்பட்டது. பரிசுத்தமான கூடாரத்தின் முன்பாக பலிபீடங்கள் எழுப்பப்பட்டன . சமாதானபலிகள் மற்றும் தகன பலிகளின் புகையும் தூபவர்க்கத்தின் மேகங்களும் துதிகளோடும் இஸ்ரவேலின் மன்றாட்டுகளோடும் பரலோகத்திற்கு எழுந்தன. ஆராதனை முடிவடைந்தது. இராஜாதானும் மக்கள் மேல் ஒரு ஆசீர்வாதத்தைக் கூறினான். பின்னர் அரசதாராளத்தோடு உணவு மற்றும் திராட்சரசம் அவர்களுக்கு புத்துணர்வளிக்கும் படி பகிர்ந்தளிக்கப்பட்டது. இதுவரையில் தாவீதின் அரசாட்சியைக் குறித்திருந்த சம்பவங்களுள் மிகவும் பரிசுத்தமான சம்பவத்தின் கொண்டாட்டமான இந்த ஆராதனையில் அனைத்து கோத்திரங்களின் பிரதிநிதிகளும் பங்கெடுத்திருந்தனர். தெய்வீக ஏவுதலின் ஆவியானவர் இராஜாவின் மேல் தங்க, இப்போது அஸ்தமித்துக்ெ காண்டிருந்த சூரியனின் கடைசி கதிர்கள் ஆசரிப்புக் கூடாரத்தை பரிசுத்தமான வெளிச்சத்தினால் நிரப்ப, இஸ்ரவேலின் சிங்காசனத்திற்கு மிக அருகில் இப்போது அவருடைய சமூகத்தின் ஆசீர்வாதமான அடையாளம் இருப்பதினால், தேவனுக்கு நன்றியோடு அவனுடைய இருதயம் உயர்த்தப்பட்டது.
