| 5 | In the Andes in August it’s Pachamama month … meaning that all farming practices (they don’t have any intensive ones anyway !) stop and they just make offerings to the land …

| 6 | Don’t pray for peace
48 hours ago I threw my toys out of the pram … 🧸
Mark took a wrong turn on the motorway driving on auto pilot which resulted in an hour and a half delay … I didn’t handle it very well - I could feel I was spiralling 🌀
Giving myself all manner of validation as to why this extra 1.5hr delay was too much to bear - we had already had an extra 1.5hr delay getting past Stonehenge on the a303, I was in discomfort as I pulled my back muscle a week ago at CrossFit, my hormones are all over the place as a peri menopausal woman, it’s crazy hot and people had started driving like twats around us left right and centre (we had reached the m25 by that point!) . Both Indigo and Mark called me out on my behaviour “mum you say to me be compassionate but look how you’re being” . So I reflected and after a bit of a sulk (poor me!) I repaired
After a restless night in a hotel in Gatwick at my 4am alarm I put my hands on my heart and prayed, setting an intention “help me to be peaceful today as I navigate this next step of travel to Spain” I was prepared to try again.
On arriving at the BA Desk at 4:40am we were told the flight wasn’t with ba - ok must be with wizz air then strange for the booking agent to put them that way round … at wizz air they told us mark has a booking but they forgot to book me on and I have no flight so they print mark a boarding pass and not me … this happens all the time apparently with 3rd party agent bookings …
So we went to further help desks, spoke to ai “help” bots , finally a human who told us - no you both have a booking it’s here on the system … back to wizz air where we notice the boarding pass that’s been printed- isn’t even mark’s name (but astonishingly close to it) and the flight is to Faro in Portugal (surely this was also a huge security breach!) and I wonder what happened to Martyn Nicholas when he tried to go to faro later that day!
Finally the 3rd party agent say the flight is with BA so we go back to BA who still say it’s not … and by now the flight has gone.
We realise we ain’t getting on that flight - so we ping across south and north terminals trying to get a flight to Malaga ! Eventually we got one 4 hours later with vueling and decide to pay a bit extra for to wait it out in some peace and quiet in a club lounge … I couldn’t help but laugh when out of the window a huge plane ✈️ with AIR PEACE written on the side of it - are you taking the p universe ? 😅😂 and in the bijou coffee corner a book titled “laugh or cry” . I couldn’t quite believe the grace and peace I had handled the situation in … way more challenging than yesterday’s 4 hour car journey that turned into 7.
Then of course our plane came with about 5 screaming babie, toddlers, having gargantuan melt downs , couples bickering and as I sat listening to the cacophony of people I just breathed.
somehow I’d managed to move through that shit show with a deep sense of peace in me - continually soothing my nervous system every time it hitched up. And we made it, with only a 4hr delay and a dent in our wallets - ironically to the most peaceful tranquil place I know - a beautiful yoga retreat in the hills above Marbella. Unlike all of my travel this year supporting others, this retreat is finally for me!
As I sat chanting ra ma dar sa, in this mornings meditation session as the sun came over the mountain I realised something… peace is an inside job … it’s not something I need to pray for , on a personal level anyway … it’s a choice to simply BE PEACE
And if you’re praying for peace … except chaos so you can become a master of it … 🧘♀️ | 111 |

| 18 |  For the last couple of years I have been working somewhat intensively with the African master plant teacher. This medicine has been carried by the Bwiti tribe for thousands of years as one of the oldest standing tribal traditions on the planet.
