Senti and long post Alert! Today, I woke up on the same hostel bed where I spent six relentless years of my life, chasing the dream called UPSC. Life has a funny way around. This was my (6th) last attempt at UPSC CSE. • I have mostly scored 10-20 marks above cut off in prelims, while doing jobs. This was the first time i did without jobs and yet felt i am on boundary (94-101 depending on Answer keys)- I felt its a safe score, booked a flight for delhi for 1st july, i received the negative result while the flight was taking off. LMAO! • In no attempt before this i had solid optional short notes ready. (this time i did, again life said LOL), Last attempt i scored 250 and was confident of increasing it further- but i sadly failed prelims • I prepared for mains till very last moments, and many would feel this impacted my prelims score but it didn’t, i didn’t mark a few easy all of the above questions for some weird reasons, Despite saying it to so many that do not over think, mark all of the above in science tech more or less.  • But as i prepared for mains till last months, So if in any attempt i could be mains ready it was this (especially since having given last 3 mains and written optional papers post mains results) So, its life, it doesn’t wait for anyone. In my initial attempts i had issues like anxiety, having fomo and doing what others are doing, MAJOR discipline issue, for such reasons my mains was poor. In 5th attempt, i scored only 70 in essay and 60 in GS3, rest subjects i had almost covered well. And so in the penultimate attempt i felt it is my time, but sadly life told me ‘you were given enough chances, but its you who blundered’. I missed a few golden chances, time and tide do not wait for anyone. So ofcourse there is a funny side to everything, But is there a flip positive side to it? Sure there is in (post 2 after a while.)
