ከፋሲካ በፊት ያለው እና የዐቢይ ጾም የመጨረሻው ሣምንት ሲሆን÷ “አቤቱ እባክህ አሁን አድን፣ አቤቱ እባክህ አሁን አቅና፣ በእግዚአብሔር ስም የሚመጣ ብሩክ ነው” የሚሉ ትርጉሞችም አሉት።
ሆሳዕና በአርያም ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ በአህያ ጀርባ ተቀምጦ ወደ ኢየሩሳሌም ሲገባ በተለይም፦ አረጋውያን፣ ሴቶች፣ ወንዶች፣ ወጣቶች እና ሕጻናት “ሆሳዕና ለዳዊት ልጅ፣ ሆሳዕና በዓርያም” በማለት በክብር መቀበላቸው የሚታወስበት በዓል ነው፡፡
