The Nathan Kline Institute for Psychiatric Research and the NYU Grossman School of Medicine are currently recruiting for two postdoctoral research fellowship positions (Director: Dan Iosifescu), funded by the New York State Office of Mental Health. The fellows will be based at Nathan Kline Institute, where they will undergo theoretical and practical training in clinical investigation.
Eligible applicants will have an MD or MD/PhD degree, have completed (before July 1st, 2021) an ACGME-accredited psychiatric residency program, and have/be eligible for a NYS unrestricted license. A post-doctoral research fellow position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Aaron Hata at the Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center and Harvard Medical School. We are seeking a highly motivated post-doctoral fellow who is interested in studying mechanisms of tumor evolution and how this impacts sensitivity and resistance to lung cancer therapeutics. Our ultimate goal is to uncover fundamental biological insights that can then be applied to solve current and future clinical challenges.
The overall focus of the Hata Lab is to understand how acquired resistance develops in response to lung cancer targeted therapies and immunotherapies and to develop novel therapeutic strategies to overcome these resistance mechanisms. We are integrated with the MGH Thoracic Oncology group and seek to answer clinically relevant questions through deep biological exploration. At the foundation of our research program is a robust translational infrastructure that enables generation of patient-derived laboratory tumor models that faithfully recapitulate clinical disease. Our research incorporates a wide range of approaches including cutting-edge single cell genomics techniques, multi-dimensional cell profiling, genome-scale CRISPR screens, high-throughput drug screens, as well as hypothesis-driven mechanistic approaches.
The fellow will develop 1-2 independent laboratory research projects that incorporate a wide array of experimental techniques including primary cell culture, cellular assays, molecular biology, genomics and in vivo mouse studies. The fellow will also have the opportunity to work with a diverse team of collaborators including computational biologists, clinical oncologists and partners in the biopharmaceutical industry. The ideal candidate will have a background in cell or molecular biology, pathology and/or computational biology that demonstrates creative and innovative thinking. Applicants must have received a PhD or MD within the past three years and have at least one first author publication. Prior research experience and strong publication record in the field of cancer research is favored. In addition, the applicants should have demonstrated exemplary leadership capacity either within the laboratory environment or in some other pursuit.

A Postdoctoral Fellow position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Andrew Lane at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery.
We use a combination of cutting-edge interdisciplinary approaches in immunology, molecular genetics, and immunohistochemistry to investigate the interaction between the immune system and epithelial cells in health and in chronic inflammatory disease. We are particularly interested in basic mechanisms underlying chronic rhinosinusitis with polyps, including subcellular pathways impacting progenitor cell physiology, innate immune defense, and epithelial repair. At this time, we are specifically focusing on how these pathways impact SARS-CoV-2 infection, in collaboration with virologist team members.

I wanted to let you know that an exciting position for a MD/PhD is open in the Barcellos-Hoff lab starting from June 2021. Our lab studies the response of glioblastoma models to radio- and immunotherapy in vitro and in vivo. Currently we focus on the effects of TGFβ signaling and use PET/CT imaging to detect active TGF intracranially. We are looking for a motivated candidate who has laboratory experience in cell culture and mouse studies. Initial funding is available for 2 years.

An exciting opportunity is available for a motivated PhD or MD with prior laboratory experience to join our research group in the summer of 2021 at UCSF Parnassus. The Matthay lab uses an innovative ex-vivo perfused human lung model as well as cell culture and mouse models to study the biology of acute pulmonary infections, the acute respiratory distress syndrome, and tobacco and e-cigarette exposure. We are seeking a motivated candidate who has familiarity with basic laboratory techniques including cell culture and studies in mice . Postdoctoral fellow Center for Reproductive Sciences University of California, San Francisco
NIH-funded postdoctoral position available April 1, 2021, in the laboratory of Dr. Linda Giudice to study the dynamics of immune and stem cell populations in human endometrium, their interactions and impact on cellular/biological function, and their role in endometrial function and disease. The successful candidate will use cutting-edge cell/molecular biology and bioinformatics approaches in these studies, including deep phenotyping of immune cells and in vitro functional assays, DNA methylation, and gene expression analyses.
The postdoctoral candidate must have a Ph.D. degree in biological sciences with training/experience in cellular immunology and/or epigenetics/genomics, as well as corresponding cell/molecular biology bench skills. Preference will be given to candidates with a record in cellular immunology (flow cytometry/FACS, CyTOF, in vitro functional assays), DNA methylation (bisulfite sequencing) and relevant bioinformatics. The successful candidate will have independent critical thinking ability in the design and interpretation of experiments, good command of the relevant scientific literature, and good written and oral communication skills.

🌺Postdoctoral position in Human Translational Immunology🌺
Research in the Konnikova group is directed at studying the development and maintenance of mucosal immunity at barrier sites such as the intestine and placenta. We are interested in understanding how homeostasis is established and maintained in humans and what goes awry to cause disease such as necrotizing enterocolitis and inflammatory bowel disease in relationship to intestinal health and preterm labor in case of placental biology. We are seeking a motivated and dynamic postdoctoral candidate to join our team who is interested in applying cutting edge techniques including mass cytometry and single cell RNA sequencing in combination with cell biology and organoid approaches to studying human mucosal immunology. My group has access to the CyTOF and genomics cores at Yale as well as state-of-the-art cell and molecular imaging facilities. During this time, the successful applicant will obtain further training in translational research, in vivo model systems and a range of immunological techniques.
The candidate will be expected to have an MD, PhD, or MD/PhD with experience in immunology. Preference to candidates with involvement in human immunology will be given, but it is not a requirement. The successful candidate will be self-motivated and have the capacity for independent evaluation of the literature. Postdoctoral position in the Section of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine
Yale School of Medicine, Section of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine (PCCSM), is looking to hire a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to drive innovative research projects forward in the laboratory of Dr. Shervin Takyar, MD, PhD. The post-doctoral fellow will work on understanding the role of non-coding RNAs in tumor endothelial cells and in inflammatory lung disorders including ARDS and severe asthma. The post-doctoral fellow should be able to work independently as well as in a team of other researchers in the lab which include other postdocs, clinical fellows and students. The major experimental platforms that will be used include animal models, RNA sequencing, qRT-PCR, signaling studies, immunohistochemistry, multicolor flow cytometry, knockdown and overexpression studies and imaging techniques, cell culture, Western blotting and ELISA.
Job Qualification:
1. A recent graduate or about to graduate from PhD in the field of biology, immunology, bacteriology, virology or similarly related fields.
2. Experience with animal handling is preferred but not necessary. Knowledge about the major cellular and biochemical techniques will be plus.

Boston University:
Postdoctoral research positions are available in Trojanowska laboratory in the Arthritis and Autoimmune Diseases Center to investigate pathogenesis of scleroderma, a complex autoimmune disease characterized by inflammation, vasculopathy and skin and organ fibrosis. The current investigations focus on the mechanisms of vascular disease using novel transgenic mouse models that recapitulate vascular and lymphatic defects observed in scleroderma patients. The second area of research include investigations on the mechanisms of pulmonary hypertension (PAH) focusing on the cross-talk between endothelial and smooth muscle cells.

The post-doctoral associate will work under the supervision of Dr. Erica Herzog and Dr. Danielle Antin-Ozerkis on human oriented research projects aimed at developing molecular biomarkers and treatments for patients with pulmonary fibrosis and related disorders. The post-doctoral associate should be able to work independently as well as in a team of translational lung biologists in the lab which include pulmonologists, postdocs, clinical fellows and students. The major experimental tools that will be used include FACS, single cell RNA sequencing, ELISA, PCR on samples from patients with several forms of pulmonary fibrosis and interstitial lung disease.
