Marcus acted as a broker between countries, as the US did not want to publicly hurt its relationship with countries in the Middle East at the time. The sale took place in a secret auction, which he describes in the videos. Marcus brokered a deal between the US Air Force, the CIA and Israel to hold a private auction with his company being the only bidder. Israel then used the Spy Plane tech to spy on air bases in Arab nations prior to bombing them, initiating the Six Day War. The Ritchie Boys were involved behind the scenes of many major events before, during and after WWII. One of the most well-known events of the war was the outcome; solidified by the Nuremberg Trials. These trials changed the face of international law for the post-war years, and have been a major factor in western national policies, both foreign and domestic. One aspect of the trial that has been omitted from histories of it is the input from Psychological Warfare officers trained at Camp Ritchie, some are well known for their roles, such as the Psychologist Gustav Gilbert. Others are better known for their lives post-war, but were also contributors to the proceedings from collecting evidence, translating, interpreting for and interrogating prisoners and more.
