Mintlayer Development Update — August
August was a groundwork month across the whole stack:
🔐 Mojito Wallet — passkey support is here for simpler, safer wallet access, plus hardened security around sensitive operations and a redesigned transaction preview so you always know what you're signing.
🛠 JavaScript SDK — continued work on developer experience, platform support, and smoother integration across environments.
🖥 Web GUI — security and correctness improvements, plus a brand-new Windows installer and improved installation paths.
⚙️ Mintlayer Core — fixes for duplicate token IDs and large token ID pagination, updated dependencies, improved macOS compatibility, and new WASM transaction decoding.

| 4 | 🚀 Mintlayer Core v1.4.0 is out
Ledger hardware wallet support (beta)
You can now create, recover and open a Mintlayer wallet directly on a Ledger device, alongside the existing software and Trezor options. Requires Ledger app v1.0.0.
Consensus tightening
Token metadata URI changes now follow the same character rules as token creation, and zero-amount token transfers and burns are rejected. This activates through a soft fork. Testnet fork height is 787640. Mainnet height will be announced.
Mempool and P2p improvements
Transaction propagation has been reworked: local transactions that never reached a peer are now re-announced, and announcements go out in batches. Mempool gained cluster size limits, several optimizations, and now correctly tracks non-UTXO dependencies, so multiple token management transactions can be included in the same block.
Wallet fixes
Transactions no longer stay marked as in-mempool after reopening the wallet when they are no longer there.
