If through sincerity and unconditional devotion your prayers reach God, it matters not if your sins be deeper than the ocean and higher than the Himalayas. He will destroy those karmic obstacles. ~ Paramahansa Yogananda Excerpts from article “Guests—Good and Bad” SRF Magazine, Spring 1986

September 7: Effort “I always believe that if I will try just a little harder, I can bring about the conditions that seem just out of my reach. Remember that no one, not even a master, can do everything for you. You have to do much yourself.” — Sri Gyanamata, “God Alone: The Life and Letters of a Saint” Further Reading: 📖 yssi.org/GA

“Remember, the mind and the will are the seat of the power of God within you. Exercise that divine power. Make it stronger and stronger by using it, and you will see how real it becomes in your life." — Sri Mrinalini Mata, “Manifesting Divine Consciousness in Daily Life Source: âžĄïž yssi.org/Instagram Further Reading: 📖 yssi.org/MDC

Heavenly Father, As electricity may either illuminate or destroy a building, so man's powers may glorify or devastate his life. Teach me, then, to employ rightly the sensory energies Thou hast entrusted to me. ~ Paramahansa Yogananda “Whispers from Eternity”

“When you are absorbed in love for God, His response is there at the heart centre, a tremendous feeling of calmness and divine joy welling up in the heart that draws your attention or concentration to that centre. That feeling in the heart is like a great comet of light; and in that light is the love of God. It is that feeling which you should concentrate on in the heart. Those who are in earnest about God are aware of these subtle spiritual experiences. As soon as I concentrate on the heart, I feel that light, that glow of God’s all-consuming love. ~ Paramahansa Yogananda “Solving the Mystery of Life”

September 2: Effort “Practising yoga is half the battle. Even if you don't feel enthusiastic in the beginning, if you go on practising you will come to feel that tremendous longing for God which is necessary if you are to find Him. Why don't you make the effort? Whence do all the beautiful things in creation continually emerge? Whence comes the intelligence of great souls, but from the storehouse of the Infinite Spirit? And if these wonders you see about you are not enough to induce you to seek Him, why should He reveal Himself to you? He has given you the capacity for love that you may yearn for Him above all else. Don't misuse your love and reason. And don't misuse your concentration and intelligence on false goals.” — Paramahansa Yogananda, “Man's Eternal Quest” Further Reading: 📖 yssi.org/MEQ

Q. When our meditation is not deep and the mind is restless, what is the right attitude to have? A. Daya Ma said that if you are meditating regularly but not experiencing increasing concentration and depth in your meditations, look to your activities and to your state of mind in your daily life. Your state of mind during this time can compromise the effects of your meditations. Things like restlessness or engaging in negative thinking can almost cancel out the efforts you are making in meditation. Look at your actions, your motives, your self-control or lack of it. That’s where many people say, “Oh, this is too much for me,” and they leave the path. Master asks a lot of us. Practice calmness in your daily life. Watch your emotional reactions so that you can control them before they control you. Watch how certain people press your buttons. Watch yourself to see how you react, and by paying close attention to this you can gain control over it. Ask yourself, “What aspects of my daily life are a challenge for me?” You will then be able to identify them, and then you can ask the Guru to help you: “Show me how to gain control over this.” There may be any number of situations or people who destroy our peace, but if we make this quantum step then it won’t bother you anymore. ~ Br. Satyananda Excerpts from “Deepening meditation and overcoming negativity in the news”

August 28: Meditation “No matter what happens to your body, meditate. Never go to sleep at night until you have communed with God. Your body will remind you that you have worked hard and need rest, but the more you ignore its demands and concentrate on the Lord, the more you will burn with joyous life, like a globe afire. Then you will know that you are not the body.” — Paramahansa Yogananda, “Man's Eternal Quest” Further Reading: 📖 yssi.org/MEQ

O Divine Life Energy that directly sustainest my body! Thou dost convert and spiritualize my food—solids, liquids, and air—into Thy revivifying rays. Teach me, O Spirit, to live less and less by gross matter and more and more by cosmic light. Thy power is present in my body bulb. I recharge myself with Thine omnipresent life. ~ Paramahansa Yogananda ‘Whispers from Eternity’

August 26: Meditation “The more you meditate, the more helpful you can be to others, and the more deeply you will be in tune with God. Selfish people remain spiritually hidebound, but the unselfish expand their consciousness. When you find your omnipresence in meditation, you will find God. If He is pleased with you, all nature will work in harmony with you. Learn to talk to Him with all your soul.” — Paramahansa Yogananda, Yogoda Satsanga Lessons Further Reading: 📖 yssi.org/Lessons

"By cultivating a powerful, positive mind, you naturally increase your personal magnetism. This spiritual force acts like a magnet, effortlessly attracting worthwhile relationships, supportive environments, and prosperous conditions." ~ Paramahansa Yogananda

Meditate! But you are too much in a hurry about meditation; you do not wait to receive His message. Meditate with calm perseverance; pray and look for His response in your heart centre. Pray again and again. When that joy comes, then notwithstanding what you are going through outwardly, you feel that everything is all right. ~ Paramahansa Yogananda “Solving the mystery of life”

August 9: *Surrender to God* “No matter how hard you work, never go to bed without giving God the deepest attention. You won't die; but die for God if it is necessary.” — *Paramahansa Yogananda,* _Lecture_ *Further Reading:* 📖 yssi.org/Wisdom

God will not measure your defects or your merits. The preeminent merit is to be sincere with God — sincerity to Him in meditation is most important. ~ Paramahansa Yogananda “Solving the Mystery of Life”

August 8: *Surrender to God* “When someone tells me how much he has worked for God, I see the poor quality of his spirit. Those who work for the Lord in the right way never think in terms of how much they are doing for Him. Rather, they think only of how much He is doing for them—giving them a body through which they can render service to others, a mind to think about Him and His wonders, and a heart to love Him as their Father, Maker, and sole Benefactor.” — *Paramahansa Yogananda,* _“Yogoda Satsanga Magazine”_ *Further Reading:* 📖 yssi.org/YSM

"Heavenly Father, Mother, Friend, Beloved God, Jesus Christ, Bhagavan Krishna, Mahavatar Babaji, Lahiri Mahasaya, Swami Sri Yukteswar, and our guru-preceptor, Paramahansa Yogananda, saints of all religions, I bow to you all. Free my life from all obstacles of delusion and give me material, mental, and spiritual development. Think and feel that God loves you through all these forms of love - Heavenly Father, Mother, Friend, Beloved God. Feel and visualize with closed eyes that the space all around you, to the farthest reaches of infinitude, is filled with God. After that, visualize Christ, and Krishna, then visualize Babaji, Lahiri Mahasaya, Sri Yukteswarji, and our Guru-preceptor." This is a very powerful practice
..you can utilize it during meditation or you can pause during the day and visualize the Gurus. Visualize one - ask for help, ask for attunement. Then feel. This practice can help improve your relationship with these Divine Beings. After all, how do relationships on a human level improve? We spend time on them, right? We nurture them; we help them grow. Spend time with the Gurus; spend time with these Great Beings. Tap into that blessing that's always there for us to tap into. Excerpts from Satsanga Q/A, By Brother Kartikananda SRF convocation, 2026

August 5: *Surrender to God* “I am Thine, O Lord! I will make myself worthy of Thine acceptance. I will not make a burnt offering unto the Lord my God of that which doth cost me nothing. I will lay myself, with all my prejudices and pettiness, with all the flesh holds dear, upon the burning pyre. I will lift my heart daily to Mahavatar Babaji, Lahiri Mahasaya, Swami Sri Yukteswarji, and my Guru Paramahansa Yoganandaji, asking for their many-jewelled gifts of Self-realization. In the stillness of night, out of the depth of my heart I will cry: ‘Speak, Lord, for Thy servant heareth.’ When the call to disagreeable duty is sounded, I will answer: ‘Here am I, Lord; send me.’” — *Sri Gyanamata,* _“God Alone: The Life and Letters of a Saint”_ *Further Reading:* 📖 yssi.org/GA
