Unicystic Ameloblastoma, suspicious for mural subtype. Unicystic ameloblastoma is one of the benign cysts or growths of the jaw, it is locally aggressive and destructive. It also comes in 3 varients or sub-types (luminal, intraluminal, and mural types). Mural subtype being the most aggressive form. Treatment has been reported anywhere from a simple removal to en bloc resection (removal of affected and adjacent normal bone). The problem or issue with all ameoloblastomas is their relatively high reoccurence rate, including the unicystic form. Although probably controversial, we decided to decompress and marsupialize the cyst or growth so we can shrink the size. She will still need a definitive removal of the growth in the future. Our goal is to help salvage the patient from a large surgery and difficult reconstruction, save half of her jaw, some teeth, perserve the nerve that goes to the lip, and maintain her TMJ. The tubes were placed to allow the patient to rinse and irrigate the cyst while keeping the access holes open to allow for shrinkage. #case_study 🔎🦷✨ @dental_case_study 🔬 @dent_tech_for_u 📚

The surgeon performed an excisional biopsy of the lesion and submitted it for histopathological analysis. A few days later the biopsy report was received. Below is a paragraph from the research results: “... A Nodular mass of tissue covered with hyperplastic stratified squamous epithelium with signs of spongiosis was revealed. An area of ulceration covered with granulation tissue is noted. The specimen consists of fibrous tissue containing several thin-walled blood vessels located perpendicular to the surface of the epithelium. The Patient was Diagnosed with Capillary Hemangioma. #case_study 🔎🦷✨ @dental_case_study 🔬 @dent_tech_for_u 📚

The parents of a 7-year-old girl and their child came to the clinic on a referral from the family dentist. I was concerned about a small formation on the ventral surface of the tongue. The parents noticed the lesion approximately four weeks ago. The girl did not experience any pain. Her medical history was unremarkable. External examination: within normal limits. Intraoral examination: a pedunculated formation was revealed, small, smooth, of soft consistency on the ventral surface of the tongue.

GIANT CELL TUMOR (GCT) Patient came to us complaining of increased volume in the palate. Given the hypothesis of adenocarcinoma, an incisional biopsy was performed and imaging tests were requested. Unfortunately, the patient moved out of SP and we were unable to continue the treatment. The Histopathological examination came with a diagnosis of GCT, which is a locally aggressive benign neoplasm. #case_study 🔎🦷✨ @dental_case_study 🔬 @dent_tech_for_u 📚

A 50-year-old female patient was referred for consultation due to the presence of a soft tissue growth of a fibrous, reddish consistency measuring about 2 cm x 1 cm in the area of the missing tooth 1.4 with displacement of adjacent teeth. According to the patient, the tumor grew for 4 years without symptoms and she asked for help only because she wanted to get a prosthesis. The patient also provided an OPG image. Due to clinical and radiological features, an excisional biopsy was performed. The histological report confirmed the hypothesis of Peripheral Ossifying Fibroma. Peripheral Ossifying Fibroma is a slow-growing, non-neoplastic, reactive proliferative lesion that can recur. The etiology is unclear, but is most likely associated with local irritants and most often occurs in the anterior maxilla. Clinically characterized by asymptomatic growth. The most striking histopathological aspect is the presence of calcifications of various shapes and sizes. X-ray examination is of great importance for diagnosis, since radiopaque lesions may or may not be associated with resorption of the cortical plate of the bone crest. #case_study 🔎🦷✨ @dental_case_study 🔬 @dent_tech_for_u 📚

Proliferative verrucous leukoplakia in a 53-year-old woman with development over 8 years. This form was first described in 1985 as a variant of oral leukoplakia. WHO has defined it as a rare form with a high risk of malignancy and recurrence after treatment. There is a wide range of clinical and histological manifestations; in the early stages it is almost impossible to distinguish them from classic leukoplakia. It usually develops slowly and over time takes on a patchy, warty, and multifocal appearance. Diagnosis in the early stages is difficult and is often made in later stages. Histologically, the process can present various stages, ranging from hyperkeratosis without dysplasia to squamous cell carcinoma. Different lesions in the same patient may have different clinical and histological stages of development. Like oral leukoplakia, proliferative verrucous leukoplakia is a term that should be used for clinical description only. #case_study 🔎🦷✨ @dental_case_study 🔬 @dent_tech_for_u 📚
