Before we can move mountains.
Before we can ask things of Him.
Before we can find out what He wants us to do.
Before we get active for the day.
Before we fall asleep.
Before we face our trials, challenges and giants.
Before we flip tables and fight back.
Praise.
Praise Him.
All the glory belongs to Him alone.
He deserves our contentment, our whole heart and all our praise.

We are enjoying Anne of Green Gables. I hope the below comment infuses you with inspiration and wonder! - TM
I come from a family of stringent matriarchtic women (new word? Do I get a cookie TM?) who were constantly telling me to βQuiet down.β My grandmother literally quoted, βChildren should be seen and not heard,β frequently and called me a, βWild child.β
I remember escaping my house as often as I could to explore a world I saw as full of wonder and possibility. My imagination knew no bounds. I forgot about that girl. The world does a good job of killing that part of us. But, it occurred to me as adults we can choose to open the prison doors and set that part of our hearts free again.
Last night I decided to endeavor to do just that, and the Lord would approve of that type of rebellion -even assisting in such an endeavor. For what is more defying of evil than to find wonder and joy again in a world that loves darkness and is bent on its own destruction?

PRAYERS FOR 9/11
Dear Lord,
Today our country is grieving as we mark the events of a very horrific day in our nationβs history. I ask You to wrap Your arms around the families and friends who lost those so precious to them that fateful day. Let them feel Your strength, peace and love seep so thoroughly in them. Let them know You care, You hear their pleas for justice and their cries of pain. Please put people in their paths who will minister to their broken hearts.
Comfort those of us who remember what it was like to look helplessly on as we lost our fellow Americans. Help us to understand that this life is truly a gift and to live sincerely grateful for the blessings Youβve bestowed.
Let today be a day that sees countless people turn to You. Thank You for healing, guiding and protecting our nation.
In Jesusβs name I pray, amen.

God created us for so many wonderful reasons.
I think one of our purposes is to add a little joy in the lives of others.
It might be a simple of act of smiling and saying, "Good morning!" Or holding a door open for someone. Or sending someone a card.
It definitely is wishing a little 7 year-old girl a Happy Birthday.
Thank you, friends! π

Happy Labor Day! And rememberβ¦
βDo not labor for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give youβ - John 6:27

Regardless where you fall* on the Autumn Readiness Scaleβ’ it's always a good day to celebrate the birthday of a little girl π
The house is filled with the giddiness of girls helping our daughter celebrate her 7th. Life is good. God is gooder.
*pun intended

We can dig our toes in the sand, feel the wind on our face, soak up the sun. The robin sings to us, the squirrel entertains us, the bee pollinates for us. The spider weaves works of art, the ant builds a tiny village, the ladybug is a colorful speck. The butterfly flutters, the hummingbird squeaks, the caterpillar inches.
We sing a customary song for birthdays. We rejoice over the Saviorβs birth and resurrection. We carve the turkey and count our blessings. We cuddle in February and sparkle in July.
We cradle babies, we cheerlead our kids, we graduate our teens. We bring food for the potluck, the parade, the party. We help our friends, neighbors, strangers.
We errand, travel and chore.
We remember the good, appreciate the health, cherish the long-lasting friendships.
We pray. We praise. We honor. We humble.
All these things. And all the wonderful, little tiny things that happened that fall through the memory cracks.
This is the life He portions. The life He sculpts. The life He blesses. For us. Just for us.
