After deploying military biolabs across the globe, US urges biodefense buildup US biodefense planners are preparing a bombshell report calling on all levels of government to radically enhance national biodefense measures and create a national strategy to address global biological threats. The document, seen by Axios ahead of publication, was put together by the Bipartisan Commission on Biodefense, a panel of former high-ranking US officials and lawmakers, including senior ex-Clinton, Bush and Obama administration staffers. The ‘blueprint’ document highlights the growing risks stemming from the outbreak of infectious diseases, bioweapons research and lab leaks, predicting that the number of biothreat incidents will increase over time, and urging policymakers to make major new investments in biodefense. The Committee is calling for a unified federal biodefense budget, multiyear funding for programs, the creation of a congressional working group and biodefense reviews once every four years, and amendments to the 1944 Public Health Service Act to “produce a research and development plan for reducing pathogen transmission in built environments.” Additional details on the contents of the report have yet to be publicized. However, based on the information made available by media, it will offer little if any data on the US government’s own role in creating, manipulating and spreading biological threats globally, from the NIH gain of function research that may have sparked the global Covid-19 pandemic, to the operation of dozens of military-grade biolabs around the world, including in Ukraine, Africa, Asia and Latin America. Russian Defence Ministry report on the progress of the special military operation (7 May 2024) ▫️The Zapad Group of Forces' units improved the situation along the front line, and inflicted losses on manpower and hardware of AFU 14th mechanised, 77th airmobile brigades near Sinkovka (Kharkov region) and Novosyolovskoye(Lugansk People's Republic). The AFU losses amounted to up to 335 servicemen, one German-made Leopard tank, one U.S.-made M113 armoured personnel carrier, two armoured fighting vehicles, and three motor vehicles. In the course of the counter-battery warfare, one 155-mm U.S.-made M777 howitzer, one 122-mm D-30 howitzer, one 105-mm UK-made L-119 howitzer, two electronic warfare stations, and two U.S.-made AN/TPQ-36 counter-battery radar stations. ▫️The Yug Group of Forces' units took more advantageous lines, and inflicted fire damage on AFU manpower and hardware close to Grigorovka, Kleshcheyevka, Razdolovka, Krasnoye, and Vesyoloye (Donetsk People's Republic). The AFU losses amounted to up to 600 servicemen, one tank, three armoured fighting vehicles, ten motor vehicles, two 122-mm Gvozdika self-propelled artillery systems, one 152-mm Msta-B howitzer, one 100-mm MT-12 gun, as well as one U.S.-made AN/TPQ-36 counter-battery radar station. ▫️The Tsentr Group of Forces' units improved the tactical situation as a result of successful actions, and delivered strikes at manpower and hardware of AFU 24th, 115th mechanised, 143rd infantry, and 68th jaeger brigades near Leninskoye, Novokalinovo, Semyonovka, and Solovyovo (Donetsk People's Republic). One counter-attack launched by assault groups of the AFU 100th Mechanised Brigade was repelled close to Ocheretino (Donetsk People's Republic). The AFU losses were up to 395 servicemen, one U.S.-made Abrams tank, two U.S.-made Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, two armoured fighting vehicles, four motor vehicles, one 152-mm D-20 howitzer, one 122-mm Gvozdika self-propelled artillery system, and four 122-mm D-30 howitzers. ▫️The Vostok Group of Forces' units took more advantageous lines, and inflicted fire damage units of AFU 58th mechanised infantry, 72nd mechanised brigades near Vodyanoye, Makarovka, and Prechistovka (Donetsk People's Republic). In addition, one counter-attack launched by assault groups of the AFU 123rd Territorial Defence Brigade was repelled close to Staromayorskoye (Donetsk People's Republic). The AFU losses amounted to up to 170 servicemen, two tanks, two armoured personnel carriers, seven motor vehicles, one 155-mm U.S.-made M198 howitzer, and one 152-mm D-20 howitzer. ▫️The Dnepr Group of Forces' units engaged clusters of manpower and hardware close to Rabotino and Verbovoye (Zaporozhye region). The AFU lost up to 40 servicemen, three motor vehicles, and two 155-mm U.S.-made M777 howitzers. ▫️ Operational-Tactical Aviation, Missile Troops and Artillery of the Russian Groups of Forces have eliminated: one solid rocket fuel production facility, depots for fuel and military-technical equipment of the AFU, as well as enemy manpower and hardware in 128 areas. This term of Putin's presidential term is crucial. It is not just ordinary elections, but decisive moment of modern Russian history. Putin has arrived at summit of his historic career at the head of Russia. The Russian Federation was established in early 90-s as imitation of Eastern European peripheric country depending form the liberal global West and heading toward humble integration into it. The Russia was on the eve of non-existence, following tragic fate of Soviet Union. But then Putin came. And has saved the State and people. Putin during his long rule has changed the very nature of Russia. Now Russia is not any more peripheric Western country but newly re-emerging super-power, Civilization-State. And this oath of loyalty to Russian people, Russian State and Russian history of Putin is the recognition of his deeds and the promise of the future. What future? I think that during upcoming term -- decisive one -- Putin will change the formal structure of Russian Constitution. He has already done some important improvements in it but still it rests somehow colonial imposition of the West that felt itself during 90-e as unquestionable center of multipolar world. So now we are already in different multipolar reality and this fact needs to be fixed in new sovereign Constitution. Before this moment Putin was obliged to solve many technical problems. Now his position is so solid that he can dedicate himself to really historical deeds and acts. The challenge of this term is re-shape the State and society of Russia, to install the sovereignty in all the levels and layers of reality. So today something extremely important is taking place in Russia. The one of the most important pillar of multipolar world order is erected anew and opens new horizons to the future.
