Bridging Arduino to breadboard with no jumper wires
BreadShield is a shield that maps Arduino pins to breadboard ties without jumper wires. It inserts into both of them, bridging them together mechanically, electrically, and firmly.

The difference between modems, modules and mobiles
👉 A GSM/GPRS Modem is an external equipment, whereas the GSM/GPRS module is a module that can be integrated within an equipment. It is an embedded piece of hardware.
👉 A GSM mobile, on the other hand, is a complete system in itself with embedded processors that are dedicated to provide an interface between the user and the mobile network.

What is this GSM Module you speak of?
👉 A GSM module or a GPRS module is a chip or circuit that will be used to establish communication between a mobile device or a computing machine and a GSM or GPRS system.
👉 The modem (modulator-demodulator) is a critical part here.
👉 These modules consist of a GSM module or GPRS modem powered by a power supply circuit and communication interfaces (like RS-232, USB 2.0, and others) for computer.
👉 A GSM modem can be a dedicated modem device with a serial, USB or Bluetooth connection, or it can be a mobile phone that provides GSM modem capabilities.

What is GPRS?
👉 General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) is a packet oriented mobile data service on the 2G and 3G cellular communication system’s global system for mobile communications (GSM).
👉 GPRS was originally standardised by European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) in response to the earlier CDPD and i-mode packet-switched cellular technologies.
👉 It is now maintained by the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP).

What is GSM?
GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications, originally Groupe Spécial Mobile), is a standard developed by the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI).
It was created to describe the protocols for second-generation (2G) digital cellular networks used by mobile phones and is now the default global standard for mobile communications – with over 90% market share, operating in over 219 countries and territories.

Flameless Candle for One-Year-Old’s Birthday
👉 This candle uses a MEMS microphone and amplifier to detect sound, and thus blowing, and an ATtiny85 to simulate a blinking flame.
👉 Amplified sound signals are fed into the microcontroller’s ADC, which controls three LEDs via PWM.
👉 The candle PCB was designed in KiCad 5.1 in the 40mm shape of a standard tea light, and includes a CR2032 battery holder as well as the microphone on the backside.
👉 One final bit of trickery involved building an actual flame shape with hot glue to better simulate the a candle.

Triboelectric Generator
👉 The triboelectric
generator (TEG) is fabricated by stacking two polymer sheets made of materials having distinctly different triboelectric characteristics, with metal films deposited on the top and bottom of the assembled structure.
👉 Once subjected to mechanical deformation, a friction between the two films, owing to the nano-scale surface roughness, generates equal amount but opposite signs of charges at two sides.
👉 Thus, a triboelectric potential layer is formed at the interface region, which serves as a charge ‘‘pump’’ for driving the flow of electrons in the external load if there is a variation in the capacitance of the system.
👉 Such a flexible polymer TEG gives an output voltage of up to 3.3 V at a power density of -
10.4 mW/cm3.
👉 TEGs have the potential of harvesting energy from human
activities, rotating tires, ocean waves, mechanical vibration and more, with great applications in
self-powered systems for personal electronics, environmental monitoring, medical science and even large-scale power.

Need for Triboelectric effect
👉 In recent years, research has advanced into wearable energy harvesters due to an increase in low power consumption and nanoelectronic wearable devices.
👉 Energy harvesting, or energy
scavenging, is the process by which waste energy captured from the ambient environment and human movement is converted into electric energy replacing the need for traditional means of power supplies,
like batteries, which are limited in capacity and constantly need replacing resulting in high
maintenance cost.
👉 The generation of electric energy from mechanical energy can be from different mechanisms such
as piezoelectric and triboelectric nanogenerators.
👉 Even though the development of piezoelectric
generators has proven to be effective, its limitations have directed research into triboelectric
nanogenerators producing a high output power with great efficiency, in conjunction with its simple and economical production.
