I’m not lazy, just unmotivated and life hasn’t felt right in so long, and I don’t know what I want to do with my life. I have no interests or passions, or the things I’m passionate about aren’t good careers, and I’m just stuck in a really weird place I can’t get out of.

I once read a quote that stayed with me: β€œNo matter how many people love you, some pain can only be lived through by you.” People can sit beside you. They can hold your hand. They can listen, comfort you, and remind you that you’re not alone. But there are certain battles no one can enter for you. Some grief has to pass through your own heart. Some wounds require your own healing. Some nights require you to find your own strength. Support matters. Love matters. Having people beside you matters. But eventually, there are parts of life where you have to walk through the darkness yourself. And somewhere along that lonely road, you discover a strength you never knew you had.

Some days, nothing is technically wrong, but everything still feels heavy. You answer messages, finish what needs to be done, and smile when someone speaks to you. From the outside, you look fine. But inside, you're using almost all your energy just to keep going. If today feels like that, don't force yourself to explain it. You don't need a dramatic reason to be tired. Sometimes your heart has simply been carrying more than you've admitted. Do what you can. Leave the rest. Tomorrow is allowed to meet a softer version of you.

People who are truly exhausted often don’t even realize they’re tired. Their body and mind switch into survival mode, numbing the feeling of fatigue. Showing weakness can feel risky, so they keep pretending they’re fine. β€˜I’ve been feeling irritable lately.’ β€˜I tear up over the smallest things.’ β€˜Nothing feels enjoyable anymore.’ Even when these warning signs appear, they tell themselves, β€˜I can’t complain about something this minor,’ or β€˜I can still keep going,’ and push forward. Before they know it, they’ve lost their appetite but brush it off as β€˜I’m just busy.’ On their days off, they can’t get out of bed or get anything done, yet they blame themselves, thinking, β€˜I’m just being lazy.’ In reality, their body has already gone past its limits, but their mind keeps pushing: β€˜I have to do more.’ The hardest part is that the closer people get to their breaking point, the more they insist, β€˜I’m fine.’ No matter what you say, they’ll reply, β€˜I’m okay,’ and shut down any chance of asking for help. If β€˜I’m fine’ is becoming your go-to phrase, take it as a sign β€” you’re more exhausted than you think..

Surviving a Sui𝑐dal crisis is a major accomplishment. We don’t have a bell to ring. The people who didn’t want to hear that we were struggling don’t always care to hear that we survived. There aren’t going to be parties thrown in our honor. However, none of that should keep us from celebrating.

UNSEEN CHAINS Acrylic on Canvas β€” 50 Γ— 60 By Yonathan Hawash β€œSome feelings are never spoken. They stay buried within us, becoming invisible chains that only we can feel.” Unseen Chains represents the emotions, pain, memories, and struggles that people carry silently inside. The figure is surrounded by darkness and a powerful red circle, symbolizing intense emotions that are difficult to escape. The prison bars within the body represent an inner prisonβ€”not one built by someone else, but one created by feelings we keep locked away.* The hands holding the bars symbolize the desire to break free, while the embrace around the body represents how we sometimes hold onto the very emotions that hurt us. The painting is about the original feeling kept insideβ€”the things we never say, never show, but continue to carry. β€œThe heaviest prison is the one we carry within.”

If you ever start missing me, remember this: I wasn’t the one who walked away. I held on for as long as I could. I kept reaching for you, even when I was exhausted. I fought for us until I had almost nothing left to give. But eventually, I had to accept that you were the one choosing to let me go. So if my absence ever hurts, don’t remember me as the person who left. Remember me as the person who tried to stay until staying was no longer possible. Sometimes, we don’t lose people because they stopped loving us. We lose them because we gave them too many reasons to stop fighting for us.

I thought I was handling everything just fine. But then I noticed I was getting quieter. Talking less about how I felt. Spending more time alone. And even a conversation lasting longer than an hour started to feel exhausting. Sometimes, we don’t realize how overwhelmed we’ve become because we’re still functioning. We still wake up. We still smile. We still say, β€œI’m fine.” But slowly, we begin withdrawing from the world. Not every struggle looks like falling apart. Sometimes, it looks like becoming quieter and quieter while trying to convince yourself you’re okay.

Everything can look right and still not feel like home. Life can be quiet. The surroundings can be familiar. The sun can be shining, and everything can seem exactly where it belongs. Yet somewhere deep inside, you still feel homesick for a place you can’t name. Maybe β€œhome” isn’t always where you live. Maybe it’s a feeling. A person. A version of yourself you miss. Or simply a place where your soul can finally exhale. Sometimes, the hardest kind of longing is being home… and still wanting to go home.
