🟢 Stunningly diverse and ambitious. Departure is a moving piece of music that displays an impressive breadth and depth of musical knowledge and skill. The songs demonstrate complex and technical instrumental ability, while the structures manage to be both diverse and coherent. The fusion of jazz and classical feels impressively natural, and I know there is a ton to discover upon repeated listens.

🟢 We have progressive metal, black metal, jazz, classical music, a death tinge, traces of folk, and everything has a density that threatens at any moment to break the rhythm, marked at times by bridges and connections that build tension, other times by abrupt stylistic transitions that carry the listener into a completely different area.
