It is not wrong when now even you admit it is planning to join NATO. Russia doesn't want that. It weakens it. And why should a more powerful dog risk safety of his puppies to keep smaller dog intact. As I said, I agree with you regarding 'help' or casus belli, it's often fabricated. But NATO reason might be true. Rich Ukraine, might be true which Russia wants.
