Grade 12 National Examination entirely online through Computer-Based Testing (CBT) across Oromia Regional State. #According to the Bureau, among students who took the 2018 E.C. Grade 12 National Examination through online Computer-Based Testing (CBT), 16.46% scored 50% or above and qualified for university admission. In contrast, among students who took the examination using the traditional Paper-Based Test (PBT), only 3.12% scored 50% or above and qualified for university admission. Taking these results into consideration, the Oromia Education Bureau is working to eliminate paper-based examinations and introduce CBT at all examination centers. To achieve this, the Bureau is equipping examination centers with computers and internet services to facilitate the administration of online examinations. #Overall, the Bureau's reported figures indicate that 16.46% of students who took the examination through CBT qualified for university admission, compared with only 3.12% of those who took it through PBT. These figures suggest a substantial difference in the reported outcomes of the two examination methods. Therefore, the following parties are encouraged to take the necessary steps: Students: Begin preparing in advance by developing their computer skills and becoming familiar with computer-based examinations. Teachers: Strengthen their support for students and help them prepare adequately for CBT, building on the support they have already been providing. Parents: Play their part by encouraging and motivating their children to prepare for the upcoming examination.
