π΄ The S&P 500 and Nasdaq closed lower on Thursday, with Nvidia retreating from earlier gains. Investors were assessing recent economic data and Federal Reserve comments on interest-rate cuts. Earlier, the S&P 500 reached a record 5,500 points, hitting brokerages' year-end target, while the Nasdaq ended a seven-day streak of record highs.
