Saint Boniface, the “Apostle of Germany,” was very courageous. He challenged the non-Christian beliefs of the people. One time, he chopped an oak tree down. The tree was dedicated to the Norse god Thor. Some say it was dedicated to Jupiter. When the people saw that Saint Boniface was not struck down by the god, they started believing in Jesus Christ and sought baptism.
